Chapter 3 : The Forest of Monsters

A monster that was just a mouth with a pair of hands attached to it fell down on one of the white-haired twins. He was spooked for a moment but then he stabbed it with his sword. Nemo and Echo were following Katie's group. The route wasn't exactly monster-proof but the amount of monsters wasn't too much either. Their group stopped when they reached a tree with carvings on it. Katie stopped and looked back at Nemo and Echo and she spoke :

Katie : Ok, let me explain a few things before we go in deeper
Nemo : Sure, go ahead
Katie : So this is the territory of the monster we consider to be the most annoying to deal with in the entire forest
Echo :(*visible disappointment) Not the strongest ?
Katoe : Well there are two small ones which we can deal with, but we can't deal with the big one though
Nemo : So what is it exactly ?
Katie : Well, uh...it's a giant armadillo-like monster
Kyle : It has several tentacle like tongues which can like a frog's tongue
Nemo : Doesn't actually sound that hard to deal with
Katie : I know, but you'll see
Nemo : Anyways, what can you guys do ?
Katie : The twins are basic-enhancers (Basic as in ability-less). Me and Sandy and Simon can only shoot Sp-energy bombs. But I can buff people or weapons, like the aura that's around the swords of the twins. Other than that I have a gun
Kyle : Hey I can use fire a little
Katie : And we don't wanna start a wildfire in a forest so no fire
Kyle :.....ok..
Echo : You have a gun ?
Katie :Well... this town is isolated and so is full of hiding-criminals and thugs. It's really easy to get a gun here
Nemo : Alright, but do you know where Simon is ?
Katie : He should be inside the territory
Nemo : What exactly is he in there for ?
Katie :Um..(*Annoyed), he thought he could actually kill it. And that day we actually encountered it so, he distracted it while we ran away
Nemo : So he can't come back now because he bit off more than he could chew ?
Katie : Yeah, pretty much
Nemo : Ok, so here's the plan-
Sandy : Wait, why are we going with your plan ?
Ken : Yeah, why ?
Nemo :(*ignores) First you guys will deal with the smaller one and-
Sandy : I asked you a question–

A bolt of electricity passed right beside her, scorching a bit of her hair. Echo didn't hold his laughter back and Katie didn't say anything. Sandy then glared at the twins who were also laughing at her. Then all three of them stopped and remained silent when they realized that Katie was glaring. Nemo then continued explaining his plan.......

There were really two giant armadillo-like creatures about 10 feet inside the territory, each on different sides. According to Katie the cave present in the center of the territory is where the bigger monster lives. The 2 smaller ones are like guards who patrol the territory and scavengers who collect food for their boss. Their bodies were full of hard-looking scales and they looked as beefy as rhinos. Their scales were a mix of mud black and dusty brown .They looked like giant tortoises except there was no shell. They were very round as well. They looked like they were searching for something, they were looking around with their chameleon-like eyes, sniffing around and had some of their tongues sticking out of their mouths like snakes or maybe dogs. Nemo was a little surprised by both the simplicity and the bizarreness of those monsters. But after looking at them Nemo can tell that even if they could deal with these two smaller ones, a bigger one might become a problem. He then cleared his mind of the useless thoughts and gave his signal. Then Echo and Kyle jumped down from the tree tops and initiated their attack. The plan was that Echo would take one and everybody else including Nemo himself would take the other one.

When Nemo asked who the toughest guy was among his friends, Kyle just couldn't help but raise and flail his arms and say " Me,me,me...". But now he kinda regrets it because Nemo then told him to block one of the armadillos, rolling attacks. He was confident in his hardness, but he still had doubts about if he could actually do that. Besides that's also why Ken also involved himself by asking to tackle the monster, instead of letting him flip the whole monster, which was ordered by Nemo. Ken would always make sure that the both of them, as in the twins, would always do the same thing together. Kyle liked that about his brother, because he knows that he is the big dumb one out of the twins. Also he couldn't voice his own thoughts as well as his brother could. And now a giant monster growled like an ugly air-horn and ran, rolled towards him with its giant round body. But he wasn't afraid, because he knew Ken had his back.
