You open your eyes and scowl when you feel that the pain is gone. You look around and find yourself in an unfamiliar place, with bandages all over your body. You hear laughing and talking from the next room, and you sit up fastly, but then freeze again.

It's not Kid's crew.

As you try to stand up, you see that your leg is still secured.

The compound fracture disappeared, only a fading line of the surgery is visible. But it's still healing.

How long did I sleep?

Wait. Did we win?

Kid. Where is Kid?

What happened?

Ace.

You find a crutch by the side of your futon and use it to stand up. At first, your vision blurs, and you lurch from the sudden movement.

You hobble closer to the entrance and glance out carefully.

Your breath stops.

You see some of the Strawhats celebrating around the room. You recognize a few from the war, but it's a sudden wave of information.

You stand there silently, trying to process everything.

We truly won. Wano is free.

I am free.

And your heart misses a beat when you spot Ace sitting at the opposite part of the place.

Strawhat Luffy is lying next to him, resting his head over his brother's thigh while explaining something excitedly, laughing loudly and honestly.

Ace is listening to him with a sweet smile, stroking the other man's forehead with his thumb, his palm resting over the dark hair.

You also see Yamato talking to Roronoa Zoro and a blonde man you haven't seen before, who has strange-looking eyebrows.

Then just before you decide to say something, a sharp voice sounds next to you, and you almost fall on your face clumsily.

"Who said you're allowed to get up already?" scoffs Trafalgar Law next to you, catching your arm before you collapse.

"Why would you put a crutch next to my bed if you don't want me to get up?" you ask. The man's eye twitches, and he lets you go angrily, so you almost trip again.

His golden eyes run over your figure from head to toe, but he seems to be satisfied with your state.

A slight smile spreads on his lips, and he pokes towards the people with his chin.

"Go ahead, woman," he says. "You were the last to wake up. For the first few days I wasn't sure you would make it. But you're stronger than you seem."

"You were the one who treated me?"

"Mhm," answers the man, leaning against the wall, crossing his arms. "There was an insane amount of injured people after the war. I wasn't in my best shape either, but I could help after a few days. I took some of the patients from Tanuki-ya because he took too much. My crewmates could help enough until I recovered fully."

"Thank you," you smile at him. The man only shrugs as an answer. "Your tattoos look cool, by the way."

He blushes slightly and tsk-s, turning his head away.

"Why is everyone so sickeningly kind around here," he growls silently.

You let him be and slowly walk forward. You collect all your bravery and call for his name.
