A/N: Hi! I'm so sorry about how long it has been since I updated!! I have been so busy working and have had a lot of personal issues that I've had to deal with so writing has been at the very back of my mind. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this chapter (it's kind of a filler chapter) and please don't forget to vote, comment, and (maybe?) share!
"So Connor, uh...what made you decide to become an Assassin?" The first day and night of the trip was nothing but absolute silence and I told Violet we couldn't let it continue into the next day or else I would have gone insane. So, we were trying to get Connor to talk anyway that we could.
"I never truly wanted to be an Assassin: it was a path that was chosen for me."
"Do you like traveling?"
"Traveling is something I am not quite fond of. However, it is necessary."
I rolled my eyes, I really hoped he would ask us questions at some point. "Do you train everyday?"
"Yes."
Violet fidgeted behind me on our new horse, Cotton, and tapped a beat onto my shoulders. "What's your favorite color?"
Connor gave us an awkward side glance for a moment before answering "I do not have one."
"Okay..." Violet tapped the rhythm on my shoulders quicker and clicked her tongue, thinking of another question. "How long did it take you to earn your robes and blades?
"I got my hidden blades within months of being trained and I earned my robes almost two years later. I am not sure if you two will receive them as quickly due to the fact that neither of you have any sort of fighting skill."
I scoffed loudly and looked at Connor, raising an eyebrow to match his own when he turned to look at me. "We've been known to surprise people Connor, so I'm pretty sure you'll be singing a different tune in oh...10 months." I smirked at Connor and turned my eyes back to the trail we were following.
"We shall see."
I frowned at his statement. I honestly thought Connor would be more hopeful and supportive of me and Violet climbing the training ladder quickly since the Order was so thin...
"Rude ass much?" I muttered under my breath.
"What did you say Julia?" Connor looked at me with a stone cold stare that dared me to say it again.
Yeah, no. I'm not risking him denying me training.
"Ohhh nothing!" I exclaimed, turning my head towards him and smiling as sweetly as I could. Violet snorted at my response and at Connor's confused reaction.
"So Connor, tell us more about you! What do you do when you're not training? Your favorite animal? Your favorite song?"
Connor sighed deeply and brought his horse to a stop. "Why do you two keep asking questions? I do not like them."
I stopped Cotton just a little past Connor and turned to face him "We're going to be spending a lot of time together, Connor. Maybe even years. We only think it best that we get to know you. If you want, you can ask us questions so you're not so suspicious about us."
Connor tilted his head in curiosity, his eyes peeking out from under his hood. "I am not suspicious of either of you. I just do not talk as much as you two." He turned back to face the trail and continued traveling down it.
Violet huffed and nudged Cotton in the sides, ushering him to follow our guide. We caught up to him in no time and Violet did nothing but stare Connor down for minutes until he sighed and looked at her.
