"You-y-you're Haytham Kenway?" I'm absolutely shocked that I would run into him this early into the journey, especially with him holding my hands in a vice grip. As soon as Kenway's fingers slacken on my wrists, I quickly jerk myself away as if he was infected with something and turn to Violet. She's standing up with her hands on her hips and is looking at Kenway with a sour expression.

I hear Kenway clear his throat from behind and quickly look back at him, chewing on my lip as I try ever so hard not to smile out of fear and excitement.

"I do believe I would know my own name, child. Do I know you? I wasn't aware I was a celebrity in Boston." He raises an eyebrow at me suspiciously and stands a little straighter, almost challenging me in some manner.

I shake my head furiously, my brown hair falling off my shoulders "Oh, no no no no. I was told by Catherine to bring food up here to you." I gesture to the platters on the table, "She mentioned your name only briefly, so I didn't know if you would be up here or not or what you looked like."

Kenway nods slowly, looking from me to Violet and I swear I'm going to crumble underneath his stare. It's like he can see right through me - I wouldn't doubt it for a second if he could.

"Very well, then. May I have your names as well? In case I ever have need to call upon either of you while I'm staying here."

I smile meekly, shrugging openly and still feeling weak due to his stare. "My name is Julia. Julia Bennett, and this is my sister Violet." I look quickly at Violet and bite my lip, signalling that we need to leave here as soon as we can. She stares at me for a brief moment before curling her lip at Kenway and I both.

"Charmed, really I am." She scoffs, her arms still crossed.

Kenway tips his tricorn hat ever so slightly in greeting towards Violet and makes his way over to the table - sitting across from Hickey - before gesturing to the empty seats.

"Please, take a seat. I'd like to learn more about the two of you."

I shake my head and take a step toward the stairs "I'm sorry, but we're needed back down-"

"If Catherine becomes disgruntled by my request, she can come to me about it." Kenway says firmly "Sit. Please."

I swallow and nod, silently making my way to a seat on the short end of the table closest to the stairs and -to my displeasure- Violet sits next to Hickey. She sits up straight and crosses her arms, staring straight at Haytham without blinking.

"Make it quick."

Kenway's eyes flit to Violet quickly before focusing on me, "I am assuming that the two of you are sisters, yes?"

I nod "That's correct."

"And yet the two of you have no similar features. Your hair and eyes aren't even close." He raises an eyebrow at me and reaches for a tankard of ale.

I glance at Violet and see that her jaw has tightened at Kenway's inspection. The thought of us not looking alike didn't come to me until just now: Her honey blonde hair and brown eyes contrasted greatly to my chestnut brown hair and hazel eyes. We have been friends for almost eight years so our physical differences kind of went unnoticed after a while.

I sit up a little straighter and look at Kenway, who is still staring directly into my eyes while drinking from his cup.

A shiver goes down my spine.

"We are sisters, our father married twice."

"What for?"

"I-he-Violet's mother died giving birth to her and after about a year he married my mother."
