I apparate to Peverell Manor and am immediately blown away by its beauty. It's the definition of a Most ancient and Noble Manor. It's huge and full of life. Somehow that is. Bright green trees, bushes with flowers and perfectly mowed grass. With a nice path leading to a gigantic structure that is white, linen and very faded green coloring. It has some design on the poles and complex structures all aroundI step over the wards and immediately feel they are not up to date. They seem old and burnt out almost. That not good. That rich black gate opened as I stepped in, granting me access. As I head over and open the Manor doors I call out for the head elf.
In a blink an old weary elf appears, "Master?"
"Yes, I am Lord Peverell; in other words your master. Now what is your name?"
"I's name is Dinky," he replies nervously.
"Okay well, Dinky, could you call all the elves here for a meeting?" I ask him tenderly.
I realize he is most likely scared to do anything that will warrant a punishment and I don't want him to think that.
"Of course master Peverell," he bows and before disappearing he says "It'll only be five minutes," almost expecting a distasteful response at an order having to take some time.
"No problem Dinky, I can wait," I smile.
His eyes widen and bows to the point where his nose practically touches the floor and disappears.
I walk further into the hall and a certain painting catches my eye.
"Ignotus Peverell?" I awake him from his slumber.
"And who are you? He questions visciously, awakening all the other paintings.
"I am the current lord Peverell," I say confidently showing him my hand.
His eyes widen, as well as all the other's that are hovering in the paintings nearby, sizing me up.
"How many lordships do you have," he asks.
"Five, Peverell, LeFae, Slytherin, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw," I say making all of them slack their jaws,
"Certainly impressive, but of course only the best for the Most Ancient and Noble house of Peverell," he tells me in an attempt to keep his voice stern and strong.
Having more than one lordship is rare in the Wizarding world. Having five, now that's unheard of.
"How old are you?" He then questions.
"15," I respond.
"And yet you have lordships?"
"I am emancipated," he nods, "I am actually going into my fifth year at Hogwarts this year as a transfer from being homeschooled,"
"I see, well hope you do well,"
"Likewise," I finish as Dinky reappears with a pop along with another I'd say 30 elves.
"Master Peverell, here are all of us, there are 27 elves currently in service of Peverell,"
"Alright thank you Dinky," I give him a smile and see all the other elves widen their eyes.
Oh boy. I'm surrounded by Dobby's.
"Hello everyone, I am the new Lord Peverell meaning I am now in charge. Now may I ask what is everyone's duty?"
"Well Master Peverell, Nipsy here along with four others are in charge of cleaning on the first floor, lippy and four others are in charge of maintenance in the thebackyard and frontyard. Then, Dipsy and four others work on rooms of the second floor. Trixie and four others are in charge of the rooms of the third floor. I's is charge of kitchen and cooking as well as bibsy, Nully, Tibby and Tippy,"
"Oh, I see" I nod my head, but once processed I inquire, "But Dinky that is only 25 elves. You said there are 27,"
Some house elves start shaking in fear.
Why would they do that?
"Master Peverell, it's just Blinky is having a baby with Tinky. Tink's be staying with Blinky because baby is coming in a few days," he replies fretting the worst with his head bowed in shame, "but it's okay I's be telling Blinky and Tinky right away to come back and wor-" I cut him off,
"No!" Dinky flinches along with the other elves, "Don't worry Dinky. Let Blinky and Tinky rest. They sure need it. It's best to not bother them with stress," I say.
"Oh, Master Peverell is too kind!" Dinky exclaimes, before bowing his head, all the other elves doing the same shouting murmurs of "thank you master".
"Of course, but I do have something to ask of all of you," I say gaining all of their attention quickly. All looking at me with attentive eyes,
"I want you to call me Hadrian,"
They widen their eyes. Then, they start worshipping me all over again.
I sigh. Oh dear.
"Thank you," "thank you master Hadrian," "so kind master Hadrian," is all I heard for a good five minutes.
"How would all of you like some clothes?" I didn't even get to finish before they were all shouting at me in despair and fear. "Master please no," "we'll do better master,"
oh I see how I worded that wrong. Whoopsie
"Hey, that's not what I meant I do not want to get rid of you!" They all quiet down.
"What I meant to say is how would you guys like for me to give you uniforms with the house crest of Peverell, showing you off as proudly claimed house elves?" I question knowing they will absolute love showing off that they belong to a house, especially one as the Peverell's
"We'd love that master Hadrian!" I hear Dinky exclaim along with a bunch of other elves.
"Perfect, I'll order them today. Now you may all resume to your posts. I'll be glad having all of you here," I tell them before they start popping away.
"Dinky!"
"Yes, master Hadrian?"
"Could you take me to the warding room?"
"Of course master, this way,"
Dinky leads me to the ward room on the far west side of the Manor.
"Here it is," Dinky says.
"Alright thank you Dinky," I say as he pops away.
I go over to the ward stone and see it dim-lighted and flashing dangerously. That flashing is not good. It means the wearing wards are getting bad. I quickly get to the stone and put my hand on it. My magic starts pulsing into the stone and flows out to the wards making them stronger, I feel the magic bouncing off around the Manor, giving the residents a feeling of safety.
I stop once I feel a bit of a push back onto my magic. I think I accidentally put more magic than required to the wards. I guess it made them truly impenetrable now.
I am feeling a little tired, but I still have shopping to do. Both for Hogwarts and my house elves. I'll be starting on September 1st which is in five days. Death already arranged it all for me filing me as a transfer, so I only had to settle in and wait for the day to come.
But as of now, I need to do some shopping.
As I head over the the Manor doors I hear Ignotus,
"That was quite some magic you poured onto the wards," he says to me in an impressed tone.
"I just have to make sure this Manor is protected," I told him.
He just smiled and said,
"Well I wish you the very best. I am glad to see the Peverell line is in clearly good hands," he says as he gives me a small smile and nod of acceptance.
"Thank you," I nod my head.
Before leaving I make only my Peverell ring visible and dissapparated.
