By now, hanging out over to Risa's house was a routine for the two of them. Every Friday after school, they would walk together hand-in-hand towards Risa's place where they'd spend hours chatting, or casually enjoy their silence together until the sun almost sets before Leni decided it would be time to head back home

There were no Fridays where they didn't spend the afternoon together unless one of them was sick. They were inseparable since they became classmates in 8th Grade, never leaving each other's side

It was one of those Friday afternoons again, they sat together on Risa's bed, the soft clicking on the controller as Risa plays on her PS4 and the rustling of Leni's Cheeto bag was what mostly filled the comfortable silence between them, a few conversations here and there. Leni watched the younger girl play as she plays, munching on the snack that Risa specifically bought for her, knowing it was her favorite. Careful to also not stain her uniform with cheese powder

Leni had no clue about what the other girl was playing, but with the way Risa's face scrunched up in concentration makes her think that she shouldn't bother her for a while. She didn't realize that she was staring more at Risa than to the actual game, how her brows furrow in slight frustration or how she would bite her lip whenever she gets serious. As Risa's game comes to an end, she raises her arms up in victory, wearing that cheeky smile that Leni loved seeing "Finally" She barely heard Risa say, she wasn't exactly listening to what she was saying after that, it was all tuned out with the way she was staring intensely at Risa's lips

"Huy? Huy, Lens!" She snaps back to reality, eyes darting up to look at Risa's confused ones. Risa chuckles "Daming iniisip ah, sabi ko do you want to stay for dinner maya? I-text ko si Tita"

She could notice how Risa's lips smiled in anticipation, knowing well that she wouldn't refuse. You're staring again, the voice in Leni's head points out "Risa..." The younger girl hums at her in response "Have you ever kissed girls before?"

Leni didn't know how she suddenly had the courage to ask that question, it was sudden even for her. What the fuck was in those Cheeto Puffs? She knew Risa was known for being an LGBTQIA+ advocate in their school, but their sexuality was never something that they got to talk about, now that Leni remembers it, they never talked about relationships at all. Leni could see that Risa was taken aback by the question "What brought this?"

My realization that i actually have an undying love for you. But Leni doesn't tell her that, only shrugging "Wala lang, they said that women's lips are softer than a man's. Ever wonder kung totoo yon?"

"Baket gusto mo bang ma-try?"

Leni grabs herself a tissue to wipe off the stain that was left on her fingers from her snack as she leans in a little closer to Risa "Oo"

Risa on the other hand was astonished when the older girl answered her question without hesitation. It was only half-meant, there was still a part of her that also wanted to "test it out"

I'm also curious if it's true, she tells to herself in her head

Sure, curious, definitely

She was definitely not using that as an excuse to kiss her dear friend that she has been pining for for months, the 16-year-old was only curious is all (wink wink). Risa also leans in to her closer "Tumatapang ka Lens ha, baka matanggal yang angas mo kapag hinalikan kita" She challenges with a laugh. No way you're actually going to do it, palabiro ka lang talaga, Risa thought. But at the same time, i want you to do it

A small peck was placed on the corner of Risa's lips, before her lips crashed against Leni's, catching her by surprise. What surprised her more was that she actually kissed her back, but neither women moved much, not having experienced kissing before. They only stayed there for almost a minute before they eventually gasp for air

They stared at each other, blushing before Leni lets out a small snicker "Hehe, malambot nga" She goes in for another kiss and Risa gladly took it. She hadn't realized that the shorter girl was already straddling her, hands tightly holding onto her waist while she wrapped her arms around Leni's neck. They savour that moment for a few minutes longer

Little did they know that there was a certain Pia who had a little peek on Risa's door

Leni stayed for dinner that night, texting her mother that she'll be home later than usual. Knowing the close friendship that two had, her mother didn't mind

After bidding goodbye to Risa's parents after dinner, Leni stood by their door "Thank you for the dinner, see you on Monday ha?"

"Wait lang" Although the older girl wasn't planning to immediately leave yet, Risa held her by the wrist to stop her, eyes darting behind her to see if any of her parents or siblings are nearby. Sighing in relief when she spots no one before turning her attention back to Leni "Tungkol sa kanina, you know, yung kiss. What does that make of us now?"

A small smile forms on Leni's mouth at the question, shrugging "I don't know, more than best friends? Kase ako, gusto kita" The hand that held Leni's wrist now held her hand, giving it a soft squeeze "Sorry if it seemed too straightforward kanina, I don't know what came to me, it just felt right to do it"

Risa shakes her head "Don't be sorry, i kissed you back didn't i? So...does this mean we're officially girlfriends?"

Leni nods, pulling the younger girl into a hug before a placing a small peck on Risa's cheek "Sa cheek lang ba?" Risa tells her with a pout and the other girl couldn't help but giggle, leaving a soft kiss that lingered on Risa's lips "Ingat sa pag-uwi, kita tayo sa Monday" Another peck on the lips before they finally said their goodbyes

Leni walked in silence that night, smiling to herself as she thinks about the events from earlier while Risa stood still by the door, leaning over on its frame and watching her now girlfriend disappear from view with a smile

"Leni and Risa, sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G" Risa hears her younger sister, Pia sing teasingly "First comes love, then comes marriag- Aray, Ate!" Pia whined as she was met with a smack in the head by her older sister, whose face was a blushing mess. Pia bursts into laughter, forgetting that she was just hit in the head seconds ago

"Wag ka maingay! Marinig ka nila Daddy at Mommy" Risa huffed and Pia makes a gesture of zipping her mout shut

"Don't worry, I won't tell a thing. Kasi ikaw yung magsasabi" Pia tells her before heading off to her own bedroom, bidding her older sister a goodnight

Risa was left there on their living room to think about it, knowing her sister was right. She wasn't worried that they'd hate the relationship because they were both women, they were strict when it came to the topic of relationships, she wonders how long it'll take for them to eventually find it

She shrugs off the thought for now, walking back to her room. Risa lays there on her bed with a smile, excited for the next week to come
