A New World (Chapter 3)

I don't know what the time is or how long I have been in this ship, all I know is that it feel like eternity. The only thing I could do is think and remember to nightmare that I was escaping. I didn't sleep much because every time I closed my eyes, all I could see were their faces. The faces of those who didn't make it out alive. I try to shake the images out of my head but I know that is useless. I can still hear the piercing screams that cry out for someone to hear. I still see their faces and as they lie lifeless on the ground. Their faces that are frozen with fear.

All of the sudden a collection of planets came into view. I recognised all of them - Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and Earth. At that moment I almost forgot about all of the pain and the loss. Instead I sat there mesmerised at the beauty and unfamiliar sight, which lay right before my eyes. I passed earth's moon, it almost seemed to shine as it reflected the suns light.

As I neared earth my heart began it race, a million question that I'd never even thought about raced around my head. What would happen when I got there? Where will I live? What if people can tell who I really am? What if this world is different from what I thought it would be? Then as soon as I entered the atmosphere, none of those questions mattered any more. I was in the one laced that I had only ever dreamed of going. I gained speed as I hurtled towards this new and strange world.

Quickly I switched off auto-pilot and prepared to land. The ground grew closer and closer until I landed with a hard thud that made the ground around me shake. I slowly opened the door of my ship and climbed out. "Well that was smooth..."I sarcastically muttered to myself.

Little did I know that I was being watched from a distance by curious eyes! I looked around taking in everything around me. I was in some kind of field shaped like an oval an there were giant brick buildings all in a line. All of a sudden I see a something shift in the shadows. I figure was slowly making its way toward me. "AAAAAAHHHH" I yelped before I could stop myself. "AAAAHHH!" came a scream from the shadows. Then suddenly a face appeared. "I come in peace!" this face stammered out in an obvious fluster. The figure came closer with its hands above its head, then I realised...

It's a boy....
