I wake up to the smell of breakfast coming from the kitchen. Ever since my genes kicked in, I've been starving 24/7. I run down the stairs before doing anything, just excited about food.
"I'm starved you guys!" I plop down at the table, ready to eat.
"Well good morning to you too, Hannah." My mom smiles at me.
"Good morning mother dearest. Food is what I seek and food I shall aquire." I smile back.
Dad places a huge plate of pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, and grits in front of me on the table. He gives me a glass of orange juice on the side.
"Can you eat all that?" Mom asks.
"Honey, her genes just kicked in. There's no telling what her appetite will be like for the next few weeks." Dad laughs.
"Okay." Mom sighs. "I guess I need to go grocery shopping today. You take Hannah to meet the guys, I'll go shopping. Sound good Hannah?" She askes me.
"Huh? Um, yeah sure." I was so busy scarfing down my food I hadn't even realized she was talking to me.
"Eat, shower. I can't wait for you to meet your pack." My dad seems so excited I can't help but laugh.

We drive down the main road before turning off into a small path covered by trees. Dad parks the car, motions for me to get out, then locks the doors behind us. We follow the path for about ten minutes before we come to a crowd of boys running around and wrestling each other. Dad whistles and everything gets quiet. Each guy sits down one by one.
"Alright boys. As you already know, once Alpha John resigns in a couple of days, Hannah will be your alpha. Get to know her now, because once she wolfs for the first time, her leadership will be in place."
Right after dad finishes speaking, a large, gray wolf emerges from the trees. All of the boys get on their knees. I realize who it is. Grandpa John. Dad spins me around for five seconds. When I turn back around, Grandpa John is standing in front of me, arms wide.
"Hello, beautiful Hannah." He hugs me tight and kisses my forehead.
"Hi Grandpa." I smile at him.
"How's my little alpha to be?"
"I'm awesome."
He leans down to whisper in my ear. "Even as a wolf, a leader, an alpha....you're still my little girl."
"I know grandpa." I smile at him.
He turns to face the pack. "In a few days, Hannah will be pack leader, alpha. There will be no flirting, no picking, and absolutely no peeking while she is changing from wolf to human. These orders will stay in place before and after she is alpha. After she turns, her mate will step forward, everything will be settled. Keep your eyes off my granddaughter." Grandpa speaks with a serious tone. No one dares to even breathe while he is speaking.
"Hey, Hannah!" I turn around to see Cameron.
"Hi, Cam."
"So, I see you understand all about what happened in the woods the other day, right?"
"Haha, yeah." In the woods, I didn't really get to see Cameron. He has brown, soft looking, flipped up hair. He's about 6'3" with deep brown eyes and long eyelashes. He smiles wide with perfect teeth.
"So can I introduce you to the others?" He asks as he pulls me out of my thoughts.
"Oh yeah, sure." Cam walks with me to the crowd of boys. He points at a dark haired guy. I recognize him as the boy that was running with Cameron in the woods
