"We need to move her. That dog will be looking for her any time now and he's gonna be pissed when he finds out I turned her." Dean speaks frantically. The fear is evident in his eyes. He doesn't seem as confident as Kieran.

"You should not have turned her." Kieran spits at Dean.

"Look, I'm a vampire. Vampires have issues, okay? I didn't sign up for this! How about we not dwell on the past and think about getting her out of here before we end up getting killed by Maximus." Dean's eyes are wide. I smirk a little at Dean being afraid of my mate.

"I know where we should put her. Give me a tranquilizer." Kieran motions to the small needles filled with a thick yellow serum.

Kieran grips the needle and holds it close to my sweat layered skin. I smell the foul liquid and brace for the sting when Kieran halts. I already smell Maximus. I catch his scent miles away from the building, but now I know for sure he is here.

"Well what are you waiting for?" Dean speaks impatiently.

"Shh." Kieran holds up his finger to the younger vamp.

Kieran quickly injects me with the serum. I wince loudly as the needle pries itself into my skin. I feel Maximus get angrier.

Dean and Kieran lock eyes and ready for when Maximus would come through the door.

Where are you? Maximus breaks through my mind. He must be in human form.

I don't know. I think I'm underground somewhere. There's a leak. The concrete walls give me little understanding of where I am.

Are you hurt? What are they doing to you? Who is it? I'm going to kill them.

Kieran and Dean? That's all I know. They're just errand boys. They work for someone else.

I'm coming for you, I promise. I won't ever let you out of my sight again.

I know that Maximus means what he said. Not only that he would do anything he needed to rescue me, but that he would never let me go anywhere alone. If these guys had taken me, someone has a price on my head. Hopefully, Maximus would find him before he found me.

The serum works it's magic quickly. My consciousness fades as the world in front of my eyes blurs. My breathing slows and I can hear my heartbeat as I try so hard to fight my mind for my consciousness.

Maximus. They tranquilized me. I'm trying to hold on, but I can't.

It's okay. I promise it'll all be okay. I'm here.

Maximus sounds like he is under water in the back of my mind. My eyes flutter closed as I catch a glimpse of him bursting through the metal door.
