Chapter 35: Protectors of Humanity

The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as the Chaldea Security Organization in short or simply just Chaldea.

The great pursuit of Chaldea's is to preserve the lifeblood of humanity and the order of the world.

Originally, Chaldea was a laboratory-observation institute that recruited talented scientists and magi for the purpose of observing both the magical and scientific aspects of the world on various levels.

They had a singular objective at the time: "to preserve the reign of the Human Order." This meant heavy study and research was conducted within the various fields of magecraft and other avenues.

This strange motto and the Chaldea was established by its creator, Marisbury Animusphere. A winner of one of the many Grand Holy Grail Wars that have plagued this world for ages.

Marisbury deisigned Chaldea to be a research and observation organization first, but it was clear to those whom worked within that the internal management was more befitting of a military organization.

What is known about Chaldea's history is a bit skewed and unknown but this is the common narrative from those who've worked with Chaldea the longest.

In the year 1994, Marisbury made the fascinating discovery of multiple grails within the current war of that period at the convergence of leylines. He instructed his institute to secretly study various pieces and in doing so, discovered that some of the grail pieces were in fact affected by some strange source of mana that seem to corrupt them. But the research was halted due to the organization coming under heavy scrutiny. Chaldea's research was being conducted within a battleground between two factions, causing headaches and annoyances for both sides as Chaldea had proclaimed neutrality when being established. The issue also worsened due to when both of the factions investigated into Chaldea's strange research.

Things further escalated when Marisbury was caught by one of the faction leaders of Kurenai (Red) in the possession of strange fragments of not just one Grail, but many. This caused a stir in internal circles and Marisbury was forced into a terrible agreement limiting Chaldea's ability to conduct any activities, and absolute silence on the matter. These pieces discovered were dived between the factions to calm tensions as a temporary ceasefire was called as the appearance of multiple grails baffled the minds of leaders on both sides. Marisbury was forced to hand over all of his research, which he ended up doing but made sure to leave out many of the discoveries his organization had made. Some had believed that Chaldea was attempting some sort of action to summon the grails early within the war for themselves so they were heavily sanctioned at every corner.

The scrutiny of Chaldea continued for some years till the two factions of Kurenai and Black re-engage in war once more, eventually allowing Marisbury to continue his work devling deeper into the truth of the Holy Grail.

Around 2004, Marisbury suddenly becoke strange and scared. Chaldea which was still operating under the disguise of a mere astronomical observatory was quickly rebuilt into a full fledged peacekeeping orginzation under the new banner of watching over humanity's future. It carried out inhuman experiments and a Heroic Spirit summoning system was established in secret.

Prior to the events of the 100th Grand War, Chaldea was to confirm fully some of the grails were being infected by an outside or party for ill-intent. Experiments carried out in this period showed that the corruption linked to the grails twisted not just materials or the land it touched, but people and servant alike.

Near the end of 2004, Marisbury disappeared and his whereabouts were never confirmed.

His last directive to Chaldea was that their mission or Grand Order was the purpose of interfering with the wars and correcting the course of humanity's future for the good of all mankind.
