I stood In complete shock watching Leah's car disappear out of sight. I kept thinking that any minute now Leah was gonna turn around and say 'gottcha' but it never happened.
Mom laid her hands on my shoulders comfortingly but I smacked her hands away.
"Don't touch me." I growled. "This is all your fucking fault."
My mom flinches slightly under my harsh glare but I ignored her and shifted quickly and headed towards Sylvia's house.
I frantically knocked on her door until her mom opened it and made a mad dash to her room. When I opened the door Sylvia was laying on her bed.
"Hey babe, what are you doing here?" She smiled.
Tears blurred my eyes as I crawled in bed with her and snuggled deep.
"Leah left."
"What? what do you mean she left? What happened?"
Sylvia strokes my hair gently as I recap what happened during patrol.
"They were way out of hand and they're being masochistic. It's not fair that everytime Leah stands up for herself they call her a bitch or they call her bitter." She fumes.
I nodded.
"I don't know if I can do this anymore Sylvie. Shifting was supposed to help make things easier, it was mentioned to give us a family but really it's nothing like that. It's like a constant dick measuring contest and whoever has the smallest penis is the runt. " I ranted.
"I want to leave but where will I go? I don't want to live without you but i also know that my mom is applied caught up in her own mind that she can't even take the time to properly give a shit about us."
I was shaking, this is the first time I've been able to admit how much my mom's neglect hurt me. Leah and Anna have been the only my potential figures in my left since dad died and now they're gone.
"You know you're always welcome to stay here, honey. You know my mom loves you and she's never home so it doesn't make any difference."
