It wasn't the thirty eight miss calls from cassie that Concerned greyson it was the fact that there was zero from Maddie.part of the reason nate loved maddy was Because she was loyal but it's also what scared the living shit out of him if anyone crossed her she'd burry them and now he'd really fucking crossed her.
—"What the fuck"
She sat up straight on Elliot's bed. "I know! He's such a fucking cunt."
"no I'm talking about the rue thing. Are you okay?"
She shrugged it off. "yeah I'm fine— but what do you mean? Nate is a cunt." She asked confused. Elliot licked the vanilla flavored wrap, "I'm not saying he isn't but maybe he had a reason" She scrunched her eyes sliding off his bed. "a reason to cheat on maddy with her best friend?" She asked in disbelief he had even said that.
He shrugged weakly. "maybe they were in love?"
"Inlove? what does that even...?— W,—wait" she looked at him with a squinted eye at he sat in his desk chair avoiding eye contact.
She gasped. "No you didn't!" she exclaimed looking at him with a knowing look. His eyes went wide and his face went red like he was was caught. And that's when she knew.
"what are you talking about..?"
"-don't even play Dumb Elliot." She grumbled. The secret was out about Elliot and Jules. He huffed sighing a bit as she scooted on the bed beside him. "how could you do that to Rue?" she asked swatting his head.
he didnt even move letting her hit him knowing he deserved a lot worse. He finished closing the blunt placing it on the ashtray. "i didn't mean too" he sighed deeply. "I mean— I meant too but I don't mean to hurt rue. It's just complicated."
She could see how distress he was, getting a better look at him she could tell he was tired with his baggy eyes and his wrinkles on his forehead along with his constant frown. "god. Your suck a dickwad" she huffed.
"I'm sorry" She softened her face. "i know.. your still an idiot tho."
He nodded. "I know." He let out a breath. "Did you tell rue?"
He nodded. "Kinda?— sorta." She let out a deep exhale wrapping her mind around all of this.
"have you talked to her.. after ya know?" He asked when she didn't talk.
"about pushing me into a wall and cutting me on a dirty nail? no between almost dying and searching for her I haven't really had the time." She said sarcastically.
he rolled his eyes. "you know you can't be mad at her" She dropped her head on his pillow and laid her hands on her stomach. "I know, she's an addicted its a disease" she mocked what they both learned in AA.
"grey"
she looked towards him as his voice as vulnerable. "do you think she's gonna be okay."
she sat up once again with her hands wrapping around her knees. "i do. we saw Me, I was popping pill everyday I was practically a junky but she's the one who's got to want to get better we can't want it for her." She explained.
"it sucks but it's all up to the man up there" she said looking up to his ceiling.
"Bonjovie?" He joked. referencing to the poster on his ceiling. She cracked a smile pushing his shoulder. "no dumbass, God." She chuckled, making him smile. He sparked the blunt and brought it too his lips before taking a long drag then passing it too her. "does it ever seem like shit will get better" he asked out of the blue. She was a little taken back by his sudden question but answered anyways. "..I don't know, i feel like there's always some part of us that will always be depressed but one day we'll heal." She said letting the smoke spiral in the air.
