Lucas can remember being smart ever since he was little.
He always knew the right thing to say, either if it was to impress people, butter them up, or insult them, he was always smart with it.
His dad was happy with this, but his mom wasn't.
His mom wanted him to become something great, like a doctor.
And Lucas didn't find that to be such a bad idea.
Once his mom found out that Lucas agreed she would always tell him that he wasn't going to become a doctor by telling people to 'get their head out of their ass'.
Once Lucas got to third grade, he started focusing more on becoming book smart, rather than being street smart.
Lucas didn't actually know where he wanted to go in life, but his mom told him to do it and 'mother always knows best'.
It's like he was her puppet, she was living out her dreams through him.
But his mom had done so much for him, how could he just let her down by destroying her dreams for him?
So for the next six years of his life, he spent everyday with only one thing in his mind,
Becoming a doctor.
Until someone else came onto his mind in ninth grade.
A smart, pretty girl was introduced to him once they were both top of the class.
Lucas never saw too much of a problem with this, being tied with grades wouldn't take away from him being able to become a doctor, right?
Wrong. Max Mayfield fucked with him every chance she could.
What did he ever do to her?
But he knew that it takes two, so he also started playing the game as well.
Her attempts at his failure were pretty good, but Lucas had something she didn't have; street smarts.
Lucas knew all the tricks in the book that she didn't.
He knew how to mess with her mind, not just her notes.
