"That's one hell of a first night." McGonagall said, as she sat in her chair behind her desk.

"I guess if you start at the bottom, you can only work your way up." I replied, I flopped down in one of the chairs in front of her desk.

"Let us both pray that it will be improvement from here on out." McGonagall sighed.

It's not the first time I've been in her office, and probably won't be the last.

"Whats the damage?" I asked, I rubbed the knuckles on my fist.

God, his face was hard.

"10 house points, or detention for a week." She said, resting her arms on her desk.

"Detention with who?" I asked.

"Umbridge." She winced.

"Take the points." I groaned, as I rubbed my face.

Hermione was gonna kill me.

"Smart choice," professor McGonagall laughed, "it may have been well deserved, but you can't go around breaking people's noses."

"Yeah, yeah, I know.... you think I broke his nose?" I smirked at the end.

Professor McGonagall looked up at me, and gave a slight smirk, only for the smallest of seconds.

"Most likely.   I don't understand you two, last year you were pulled out of the cleaning closet because... well.... now your breaking each other's faces....." McGonagall trailed off, moving her hands as she spoke.

"Things have changed, I guess." I picked Draco's dried blood off of my hand.

"Are you ok? Is your hat ok?" She asked, as she stood up.

"Yes, and yes." I replied standing as well.

"Good, now I better not see you again in my office for a while." She chuckled, as she motioned me too the door.

"No promises, thank you." I smiled, as I left her office.

I walked quickly through the halls, they were empty now.

Everyone had made it back to their common rooms now.

Once I got to the Gryffindor commodore, I washed the remaining dried blood off of my hands.

When I entered Hermione and I's room, she was almost done unpacking.

"What did she give you?" Hermione quickly asked, as I walked in the door.

I opened my trunk, and began putting my thinks away.

"Promise not to be mad?" I asked her.

"Oh god." She turned her head quickly in my direction.

"10 points she took from the house." I winced, as I hung my clothes up in the closet.

Hermione ran her hands through her hair, as she sat on the edge of the bed.

"It was that or a week's detention with Umbridge.  What other option did I have?" I slammed my trunk shut.

I didn't unpack very neatly, I just threw things in their spots.

I was too tired to worry about that right now.

A slight grin began to grow on Hermione's face.

"I can't believe you punched him, it was worth the 10 points. " Hermione cracked a smile.

She had loosened up over the summer, not so uptight as she was last year.

"Damn, it felt good to punch him.    I didn't know I could hit that hard." I smiled.
I laid on my bed, placing my hands behind my head, and crossing my legs.

"I can't believe you told him you would piss on his grave." Hermione began laughing hysterically.

"Totally worth it, most of the school saw it too. " I began laughing.

I smiled and sighed with content.

That little blonde boy needed to be punched.

...

As we walked too our first classes of the year, people congratulated me.

They shook my hand, and gave me satisfied nods.

I guess a lot of people were wanting to punch Draco, he turned into a real asshole over the summer.

More than he already was.

He was different than last year.

Our first class of the day, was with professor Umbridge.

It was defense against the dark arts.

Lord have mercy on my soul.

At least I had it with Hermione, Ron, and Harry.

The desks were separated, and in single file rows.
There was no color too the room, besides her and her pink chair.

Me, and my friends sat close to the front.

Draco sat a few rows behind us, and to the right.

I looked back at him, while Umbridge talked.

Draco's nose was put back on straight, with little white strips were holding it in place.

It was swollen, and had a hit of blue too it.

Draco looked like he had two black eyes forming as well.

Draco stared back at me.

His gray eyes squinted as he put a sour face on.

Draco quickly changed his face to his devilish smirk, as he looked at me through his eyelashes.

Draco began lightly flicking his tongue at me in the air

I swallowed hard, as my eyes got wide.

I could feel my face turn red and go hot too the touch, but I couldn't look away.

No matter how he treated me, my body still craved Draco.

"Pay attention!" Umbridge yelled, casting her wand at me.

She forcibly turned my head back to the front.

A line of pain ran down my hand, as a deep cut formed on the back side of my middle finger.
It went down the whole length before it stopped.
It burned worse than when I broke my knuckles.

Don't make a sound, it will only give her the satisfaction she wants.

I swallowed my cries, as I breathed slowly.

"But how are we supposed to practice magic?" Harry asked her.

I was totally oblivious to his, and Umbridge's conversation till now.

"The ministry believes that learning magic through reading is the most effective way to learn.   What better place to learn about the history, than school?" Umbridge pushed her evil smile on her face.

"How is learning about them going to help with anything, if we can't practice them? How is that going to prepare us for what's out there?" Harry argued.

"There is nothing out there!" Her voice grew louder, as she kept that evil smile plastered to her face.

"Yes there is!" Harry began yelling, "Voldemort is back! I saw him!"

"Detention, Mr Potter!" Umbridge yelled at him, "Now for the rest of you, start reading up for your OWL's!"

All of our books that were placed on our desks, flew open.
