Luna's Pov
"Gatsby really loved Daisy", Ray tells me, closing the novel. Finally, he completed reading 'The Great Gatsby'.
" Yes, he did", I reply.
"Lu",
" Hmm",
"Thank you", he says, with earnestness in his eyes.
" Why?" I ask him in surprise, what did Gatsby do to Ray?
"For being there for me, during my parent's divorce",
" Oh",
"You are a good friend, Lu",
" And you are becoming too much emotional, Ray Wright"
"This book made me emotional", he shows me the copy of The Great Gatsby.
" Wow! This is a momentous occasion, you not only completed reading the book, but you also loved it", I tease him.
"Okay, okay! Don't behave like you have read millions of books",
"You are a jerk", I throw the pillow at him, which hit his face.
" Don't hit my face", he whines.
"What a baby you are", I shake my hand.
Ray again looks at me with earnest eyes and hugs me.
" Okay, this now becoming irritating, Ray",
"I missed you, Lu, I missed us like this, I missed our friendship", he tells me.
" Me too", I hug him back. I indeed missed our friendship when we started dating our friendship somehow got lost in our relationship, and now that we are not dating I think our friendship is getting restored, and I am happy about that.
"Okay stop it now, enough emotion for a day", I pull away from him.
"You are mean",
" I know that"
"By the way, I forget to tell you something", he tells me.
" What?",
He pulls out a card from his bag and hands me it.
"What is this?",
" Read it",
I read it, it's an application card to apply for debutant ball.
"Debutant ball is happening this month, after two weeks, I know since childhood you wanted to be a debutant at the debutante ball, and playing debutant ball used to be your favorite game",
" Yeah", I say, still looking at the card.
"You want to be the debutant, right?" he asks me.
" Yeah! But I was thinking about Cole, will he be ready to escort me? He doesn't like social events", and I am sure Cole doesn't like a ball, especially a society ball.
"Your nerd boyfriend is head over heels in love with you, he would do anything for you, I am sure of that", he says as if he knows Cole more than me.
"Don't call him nerd",
"Okay, but is it true that he will do anything for you", Ray is right though, Cole would do anything for me.
"Do you think he will escort me to the debutant Ball?" I can't believe I am discussing my current boyfriend with my ex-boyfriend.
"Yeah, I am confident! And if he doesn't escort you, I will escort you, don't forget you will always have me", he tells me.
