Chapter 16: Sunday

Cole's Pov

"Hey Lu now wake up, I have made breakfast for you", I say loudly, as I enter my room with the tray of French toast and coffee in my hands.

Luna is not there on the bed. She must have woken up and gone to take a shower.

" Hey Love Good Morning", she comes out from the bathroom all dressed up, in a pink floral dress," Wow, French toast", she takes one toast from the tray.

"Good Morning, are we going somewhere?", I keep the tray on the table.

" No, I am going somewhere",

"Where?",

" Wright Mansion, Ray's place",

What?

She is going all dressed up on Sunday to meet Ray?

"You are going to meet Ray?",

" Yeah, to discuss our presentation", she says as if it is not a big deal to go, to meet her ex-boyfriend on a Sunday morning.

"Luna, today is Sunday!!", I snap at her.

" I know! And I am so sorry, I know Sunday is our day, we spend it together", we have an unsaid pact of spending Sundays together. Every Sunday since we began dating in real, we have spent it together.

"Then why you are going to your Ex-boyfriend's place",

"I told you to discuss our presentation",

"But why on Sunday?",

" Because tomorrow he has a match, so he will not be able to meet me",

"Cole", she takes my hand," I am sorry, but I will make it up to you", I pull my hand.

She huffs, "what's wrong with you?Why you are behaving like this?", she asks with a frown.

"What's wrong with me? I made you breakfast today, and I was hoping to spend today with you, but you are going to meet your ex-boyfriend who may still have feelings for you", Yes I think Ray still loves Luna, and because of this, he became Luna's partner for presentation. And the only reason he is caring about this presentation is for Luna. Because I have never seen, Ray Wright taking any interest in academics. And he doesn't need to also because he is a good football player, and his parents are rich. Colleges line up to give admission to people like Ray.

"What? No, he doesn't have a feeling for me", Luna says with full confidence.

" How do you know that?",

"Because I know Ray",

" Of course, you know him",

"What is that supposed to mean?", she asks with a frown.

I don't answer her question, instead, I tell her," Fine go to Ray's place, I am also going to Char's place to work on my presentation",

"You must be kidding me?",

" No, I am not",

"You are going to Charlotte's place to get back at me?",

" No, of course not", I lie. I just want her to feel, the way I am feeling right now.

"Okay then go", she tells me and storms out.

Luna's Pov

I can't believe Cole behaved like that, like an immature. I mean, the only reason I have to do this presentation with Ray, is because he is doing his presentation with his beloved Charlotte. He actually doesn't have any right to be mad at me.

"Just go to hell!!", Mrs. Wright shouts, and her voice interrupts my thoughts.

" Their fights seem to have gotten worse than before", I say to Ray, who is working on our presentation on his laptop.

"Ignore them", Ray tells, without looking at me.

I know their fights bother him, more than anything. When we were kids, whenever his parents used to fight, he used to call me and cry. As he grew older, he started to pretend like he doesn't care about their fights, and stopped telling me about it.

" Hey, Ray",

"Yeah?", he looks at me.

"Are you okay?",

" Yeah, why?", he looks at me.

"Your parents, they...",

He interrupts me," He knows right their fights are usual in this house, and they don't bother me anymore", I know he is lying.

"Hey, do you remember you asked me last time if we can be friends?", I ask him.

"Yeah",

" I think we can", I tell him with a smile.
