Luna's Pov
I ring the bell of Cole's house and Cole opens the door.
"Hi!" I say with a smile and kiss him.
He pulls away from my lips after a few seconds and says with a blush," Hi!",
"Grace has sent brownies for today's special dinner", I tell him, and he leads me inside his house.
" Tell Grace I said Thank you",
"Okay, by the way, where is your Dad?",
"In the kitchen, since morning I think he didn't leave the kitchen, he is behaving as if he is cooking thanksgiving dinner",
He takes brownies from my hands and tells me," I will keep this in the kitchen", and goes.
Cole goes to the kitchen and his Mom appears from the guest room.
"Hi, Luna", she says with a smile.
" Hi", what is she doing here? Isn't it will be awkward for her to dine with her ex-husband's girlfriend?
She sits on the couch, and I go to Cole's dining room slash kitchen and see Sarah setting up the table.
"Hey", I say.
" Hey, you came early?",
" Yeah, I didn't want to be late today, by the way, why is your Mom here, wouldn't it be awkward for her to meet her ex-husband's girlfriend?" I ask her.
"Yeah, it will be awkward, but she told Dad she is happy for him and would love with his girlfriend",
"What?",
" Yeah", Sarah shrugs.
I don't think Cole's Mom is okay. And this whole idea of meeting her ex-husband's girlfriend is not good.
"Luna!" Sarah interrupts my thoughts about her Mom.
" Yeah?",
"Don't think too much about it", she tells me and goes.

Mr. Davis's girlfriend is charming, she is sitting opposite me beside Mr. Davis. I take a glance at Cole's Mom, she is carefully observing the woman who is sitting beside her ex-husband.
"So Elena, how did you and my Dad meet?" Sarah asks.
“ Your Dad didn't tell you?", Elena asks and looks at Mr. Davis.
"No! He is shy, you have to look at his face whenever he talks about you, he gets all blushed up and shy", Sarah tells her.
" Well, we met at the restaurant where he works, I liked the pasta which he cooked, so I told the waiter to call the chef, and your Dad came I was mesmerized by him, I praised the pasta which he made, and then I asked for his number and the rest is history",
"So you made the first move?", I ask her.
" Yes!",
"Of course she had to, I can't imagine Dad making the first move", Sarah chuckles. Elena and I both laugh, and Mr. Davis's cheeks turn red.
" Okay, Okay now you girls stop ganging up on me", he says while fighting to control his blush.
"Okay, Honey", Elena kisses him on his cheek.
I look at Cole's Mom, to my surprise she is handling it very well. Without any hint of envy on her face, she is silently eating her pasta. I turn to my left to look at Cole, and he is doing the same thing, he hasn't spoken a word to Elena, he smiled at her when Mr. Davis introduced her, but I think that smile was not genuine.
I look at Sarah who is thrilled to meet her Dad's girlfriend, but then I look at Cole who is clearly not thrilled.

Cole's Pov
How can Sarah be so impressed with Elena, she is nice, but she is not our Mom. I know she is mad at Mom, but whatever she does, how obnoxious she behaves, it doesn't change the fact that she is our Mom. I felt so bad for Mom today, it must have been so hard for her to see Dad with someone else, she was silent the entire dinner. And Sarah behaving as if Elena is her new best friend would have hurt her more.
“Hey”, Luna lies beside me on the bed and places her head on my chest.
" I realize when you came", I tell her.
"You were in deep thoughts",
“Yeah”, I say slowly.
"Are you okay?" she lifts her head a little to look at me.
“Yeah”, I lie.
" You don't have to lie to me", she tells me, with a small smile on her lips.
She continues, "I know you are upset because of Elena, she is wonderful, but she is not your Mom",
" I feel like she will take place of my Mom, I know my Mom is not a perfect mother, but she is still my Mom",
"I know, Robert is awesome, but he is not my Dad, and he never will be, nobody can take my Dad's place, so Elena can't take your Mom's place", I look at her in awe, even though she is contrastingly opposite of me, she can still understand me.
She places her head back on my chest, and tells me, "It's okay if you are not happy for your Dad because you are unhappy for your Mom",
I lift her chin and place a kiss on her lips, " What's that for?", she asks.
"For just being you", I tell her, holding her tight in my arms.
