Chapter #19 Are we screwed or not?

(AN: Do you think so?)

(3rd Pov)

The evening became eerily quiet as everyone in Y/n's backyard read through the news alert. They all had their own reactions that varied from interest and curiosity to fear and concern. They all momentarily paused to look back at the house when they all heard someone scream "F***!" From inside. They're attention was grabbed again by Ruby who stumbled away from her group with a horrified look.

Ruby: What?

She mumbled out as Lucia, Alpha, Akame and Velvet turned to her along with others, all staring at her in confusion and worry. Except the former three, all knowing why she was panicking and only hoped they could be wrong.

Lucia: Ruby?

Ruby: No no no no, that shouldn't be here!

Velvet: What are you talking about?

Kate: Ruby, you shouldn't worry too much about it. It's natural if a wild animal roams through a city when it's lost.

Kate came over when she saw the look of panic on the younger girl. She assumed the first possible reasoning why she acted like this was because she didn't do well with wild animals. She came closer to comfort her, but Ruby brushed her aside and went to Blake's side just as said girl began to leave her seat to check up on her leader. The black haired girl was pulled by Ruby to show her the alert on Velvet's phone.

Ruby: What does that look like to you!?

Blake stared at her momentarily before looking at the phone to see what caused this panic. When she found out, she stiffened and can only whisper loud enough for Lucia, Akame, Alpha and Velvet to hear.

Blake: Grimm...

(Inside the house)

Alex: Grimm...

At the same time, she whispered the word as she took another at her phone. When Y/n cussed out, that was all she needed for confirmation on her hunch. Y/n's parents and older siblings stood by with shocked look by Y/n's outburst.

Mom: Y-Y/n?

Shay: Bro?

They stood cautiously as they watched Y/n who's back was turned to them as he stood still at the door frame leading to his garage, occasionally twitching slightly.

Internally, thousands of scenarios were running through his mind on how this night will go.

Alex: Y/n?

This single and sudden tone brought him back to reality, but his thoughts kept running, slightly slower though. Her tone of voice made him almost forget about them. He slowly turned to one of his most cherished friends, who was currently showing a great amount of fright and slight panic. The sight of this alone slowed all thoughts to a stop until he regained his composure and collectiveness. He breathed before hardening his eyes in thought.

First things first.

After a few seconds, he marched into the garage to close the garage door before walking over and making sure whatever jackass who took his bike didn't mess with the devices for the portal.

Y/n: Alex.

She quickly went to stand in the door frame. Before she could speak, Y/n immediately had her do something.

Y/n: I need you bring everyone outside into the living room. Don't let anyone leave the house.

Alex: Okay!

Y/n: And remember keep calm!

She nodded and left right as Y/n's parents and siblings were about to crowd around the door frame to see what he was doing. After Alex left the room, Rachel spoke up with a tone loud enough to hopefully gain his attention.
