I ran as fast as I could towards Ace, trying to pry the walkers away from her. Both Carina's and Ace's scream were the only thing that I could hear. The sounds of bullets around me and the walkers falling down signified that someone had brought a gun. Quickly, Shane and I were able to get Ace off the vehicle and into Jay's arms. As I turned around to save Carina, the fence fell, and the walkers bent down to feast. They bit deep into her skin on her neck. Blood squirted everywhere. One by one bullets sounded out, each followed by the fall of a walker.

Mango stood mystified, like a deer in the headlights. No one said anything. The middle-aged woman pivoted on her feet, meeting eyes with me.

"Get off my f**king farm! You hear me! Get out of here!"

Amber held on close to me, trembling. My heart was pounding in my chest. I lifted up a finger to talk, but Mango screamed again.

"You didn't even try to help!"

"I lost someone, too, you know!"

"But this was my only daughter you b*tch! Now get off my farm before I have to shoot you!"

Jay picked up Ace, and we all collected ourselves. The kids got into Shane's truck along with Jay and Shane, and I sat in the open back. I watched Mango crying over Carina, before my view was blocked by the willows whispering to me, You had your chance.

After a long drive, we ended up with no gas in the car in the middle of a city called Macon. We'd walked the alleys for a while, scared and defenseless. Amber clung tight to me, but I still acted as if was a game of tag. Shane led our group, watching closely for any walkers or survivors. Then we came to an alley, and it granted me a sense of shock and realization. Oh god... This is the place that we walked by once we made it out of the mansion.

Amidst the cars, we saw people hunched over behind them. Shane waved his hand.

"Hey! We aren't dangerous!"

The people all stood up, and we suddenly realized they weren't human. Walkers coming from every side street started coming for us. We were surrounded, and there was no way we were going to fight through them without losing someone in our party. Gunshots rang out, and a spiky brown haired boy came running next to me. A lighter brown haired girl stood ground a few yards away from us. Amber clung to me.

"Get inside!"the boy yelled."Now!"

My previous group and I ran into some kind of a convenience store. The boy and girl continued firing as they retreated into the store. A red haired girl slammed the gates shut, locking a padlock on the gate. Walkers inched forward as we ran inside, scared for our lives.

"We can't keep taking risks like that!"a blonde girl screamed.

"And we can't keep taking risks like that either,"the brown haired boy retaliated.

"When I say that door stays shut, I mean it!"

I gulp. This was going to be a long night.
