"Let's go for a picnic," I suggest to Taehyung one weekend as I pull the curtains.
"It's windy," Taehyung approaches me from the back and wraps his arms around my waist.
"It's breezy," I correct, "Which is good for a picnic. We don't want to melt if it's too hot."
"It's not even summer." He buries his face in the crook of my neck. "It can't be that hot."
I sigh. "Just say you don't wanna go."
He turns me around to look at him. "Do you wanna go?"
"I just bought this new dress and it's picnic-y and I can't wait to wear it," I admit.
Taehyung lets out a chuckle that makes me blush. "Then put on the dress and let's go."
I don't waste time as I immediately start stripping, rushing to the wardrobe to bring out the baby blue sun dress. Taehyung watches with a smile on his face as I put it on and twirl around as the flowy dress twirls with me.
"What do you think?" I ask.
"Gorgeous," He says as he places a kiss on my forehead.
My phone dings with a message and I pick it up from the bedside table to see a text from Yoongi.
Yoongini:
wanna get drunk?Yoongini:
it's a saturfay u have no excuseMe:
i'm going on a picnic with taeYoongini:
withiut me???I bite my lip in thought. Yoongi has no idea Taehyung is my boyfriend now; I forgot to tell him.
"Tae, are you okay with Yoongi coming along?" I ask.
"Sure, haven't seen him in a while," He says as he leaves my room and heads to his own, although his room now only serves as a dressing room. We always sleep in my bed since it's bigger than his, but my wardrobe isn't big enough to take in both our clothes, so his stuff stays in his bedroom.
Me:
wanna come with?---
"Dandelions!" Taehyung's eyes light up as he runs towards the flowers, immediately picking one up and blowing on it.
"What a child," Yoongi grunts as he sits under a tree and rests his back on the trunk, but I catch a glimpse of a tiny smile on his face.
I sit down beside him, and after a few minutes of silence, Yoongi speaks up.
"You guys a thing now?" He asks casually.
I look down at my butterfly-lined silver bracelet. "Is it obvious?"
"You smile at each other all the time, blushing and shit." He gags and I roll my eyes.
"Says the third wheel," I mutter under my breath.
"If anyone's third wheeling here, it's you." Yoongi crosses his arms. "We would've been living together now if it weren't for you."
"Well, he chose me over you so," I end my statement with a shrug and Yoongi flips me off.
He pauses for a second, as if contemplating asking me the next question, but he does anyway.
"Aren't you scared?" He asks, his eyes set on Taehyung, still blowing on every flower he picks.
"Of?"
"His death."
My heart clenches. "Of course. But I think I've accepted it now. That this will all end sooner than I wish. And wherever he goes afterwards, I'll go, too."
"Hell," Yoongi scoffs, turning his head to look at me, "That's where that fucker is going. Hell."
I shrug. "Then that's where I'll go."
"Ew."
I roll my eyes again, my eyes falling back on Taehyung as he picks up two dandelions and approaches us, handing each a flower.
"Make wishes," Taehyung orders, his face serious, "If you don't blow it well, your wish doesn't come true AND mother nature bites you in the ass."
"Where the fuck did you hear that?" Yoongi asks, accepting the flower with an angry mumble, but then he closes his eyes and makes a wish anyway.
Smiling, I take the flower and make a simple wish. I wish I'm beside Taehyung when his time comes. I blow on the dandelion, but the florets don't move, and my smile falls.
"Uh oh," Yoongi says sarcastically, "Someone better look after their ass."
"Shut up," I retort, looking at his flower to see he blew it all away, "What did you even wish for?"
"Money," He replies quickly, "What horrible ass wish did you make for mother nature to refuse it?"
"None of your business," I reply dryly, still annoyed I couldn't blow my dandelion away.
"Hey," Taehyung says gently as he towers over me, his shadow blocking away the sunlight, "It's just a flower. It doesn't mean anything."
I nod in defeat. "Yeah, you're right. It's just a flower."
I close my eyes again. I wish I spend the rest of my life with Taehyung. This time, the flower blows away, and I roll my eyes. Indeed, just a flower.
Once we reach home at sunset, Taehyung crashes into bed and doesn't wake up until the morning after, and I try not to think about it as I lie beside him, wondering when will be the last time I get to do it.
