"Hmm, I wonder what are they." As I thought while going to home. As I came in the house, I saw my mom cooking. Corn beef I guess. "Oh hey son. How's school? Sorry about the surprise thing. I haven't bought a gift in the mall." She said as she smiled. What a perfect lie. "School's fine, and why do you need to buy a gift for me? It's not like my birthday or something."
"Ok then honey." and managed a smile. As we ate dinner. I feel so full that I just slept in the dining table. My head hurts. Guess my mom just left me in the dining table. As I woke up the lights are closed. I reached for the switch. Then I heard a creek on the floor. Someone's here. "Who's their?" I said and walked near to the noise. In a matter of seconds someguy jumped behind me and knocked me out(classics). And I feel like the air got thin. They put my head in a sack. As they put me in a car. They drove me somewhere. Then it stopped. They didn't pick me up. Maybe were in a open space and the car's going to explode. No, that's a bad idea. After a minute a girl screaming came in the car. "Get me outta here!" She said. Then the voice sounded familiar. "Julie?"
"Noel? Is that you?" It was Julie. If Julie was here, then I just have an idea who actually kidnapped us. The guys in the black jacket. "What are we going to do?" Julie asked nervously. "I don't know. I feel like It's over."
"Don't say that!"
"Noel is right. Both of you just shut up." The guy interrupted. "Were going to wipe all of your kind, Instantly." And chuckled. Guess it's really the end of it. In a matter of seconds, the car got bumped. I bumped my head on the seat. Not painful. But kinda hurt. I heard the guys got out of the car. And we heard gunshots. And in a minute someguy opened the door on Julie's side and grabbed her. "Let me go!" She screamed and tried to kick. But failed cause she just kicked my stomach. "Put your gun down or I'll shoot her!" He said. I don't know what's actually happening outside. But I heard the gunshot. I don't know which the guy shot. Maybe Julie or the guy. Then someguy opened the door on my side. "Get out. More of them are coming. The guy helped me put my sack bag out of my head give me hand. "Get this. Using your powers will track us." He said and handed me a gun. " I don't even know how to use a gun."
"Trust me, you do." I don't know whats he talking about, but I just nodded. "You got her?" The guy said to the woman."Yeah. Good thing I'm the one in the hostage-sheild part. If you're in my position you could've shot her eye." She said and smiled. "Whatever."
"Yeah, I got her." She said while holding Julie's hand, which she thinks that their the kidnappers. "Get me out of here! I wanna go back home!"
"Woah, easy girl. Were here to help you."
"You are?"
"Yes."
"Then bring me back home!"
"We can't."
"Why not?" I interrupted.
"The hunters are out there. It's safe if you will stay with us." Answered the guy.
"Who are they anyway? What do they want with us?" I asked.
"No time. They will go here any minute. We should leave."
"Just bring me back home and everything will be ok!" Julie interrupted. Then, after a heartbeat. I can count 10 seconds before my next heartbeat. The guy slowly took his gun. While Julie moved normally. She just slowed time. So she's not actually running fast, or can do things fast. She can just slow time. Then, Julie slapped the woman in the face, and kicked her in the stomach. The woman fell down. Then in a sudden time came back. Julie fell to her knees.
"She's going to be fine." The woman said. "And as what I said. I'll explain everything later."
"Ok. But if were in a safe place, better explain everything." I said.
"Fine. Just follow me." As we walked to the car. The guy and I carried Julie to the car. "Hold her for a moment, gotta fix the car." He said. Since the front was dented because of their good, old plan. "Do you think this car is fine? Like free-explosion type car?"
"Yes it is." As he moved his hand toward the dented part of the car, the car was slowly getting fixed. As he also opened the hood. He just repaired some stuff normally. Good thing there's no oil leak. "I'm done." he said. "Now let's go in the car." As we came in the car. The car smelled of burnt food. The seats were old, and the front window were broken. Which the guy didn't bother to repair. Or maybe he can just repair the metal parts of the car. Or maybe CONTROL metal. But I still don't know what does the woman do. "I know you're staring at me." The woman said. "Obviously, you saw me in the reflection of the window." I said. "I don't. I just feel you staring at me." She said seriously. Like feelings is no word in her life. "Why is there no person outside?"
"What do you mean?" The woman said confused.
"I mean, there's gunshots and bumping of cars. Noone even bothered to look outside on what happened."
"I took care of that." The woman said and smiled.
"How?"
"I'll tell you later." As the guy drives I felt nervous of what's happening. I don't know what happened to Julie, but I know the incident has to do with the woman. "I didn't hurt her, don't worry." She said and patted my back. "How do you know on what am I thinking?
"That's. . . Part of my powers."
"I hate it."
"Well if you hate it you have to be 4 miles away from me to make sure that I can't read your thoughts."
"Well that sucks. Cause I think that I have to be with you."
"Indeed, since the hunters are hunting you two. It's better to have someone with your side." She said ang glanced back at the window. "Were here." She said as she looked at Noel again."I'll wake her up. Tell her that everything is fine."
"Ok." I prepared. I bet that the time Julie will wake up she will go crazy than before. But it happened wrong. As she woke up she felt calm, like nothing happened. " I could go in people's dream. So I just told her everything while she is asleep."
"And what if that people didn't dream?" I asked.
"Obviously, I can't go in their thoughts then." She said and smirked.
"So where are we actually?" Julie said and put her hand in her head. "It hurts."
"Sorry Darling. Going in someone's dream is making you dizzy. Cause fantasy can't mix with reality."
"What does that have to do with my head getting dizzy?"
"Your brain puts me out. But of course my power is can take any brain, so the brain failed it's job." She said and smiled, like she always does.
"It's funny brains can do that." Julie said. "So where are we now?"
"Were in a safehouse. There are thousands of safehouses around the world."
"How is this a safehouse?" I asked. The house looks like a hut. But bigger and the roof is metal. Just that the walls are made of wood and colorless, even the floor is made out of wood, and this house doesn't look like a SAFE house. With wide windows and no doors. This house won't make it. "You'll see." She then said.
"You keep saying that."
"It's better to see than to hear." She said and smiled.
"You really don't need to smile."
"Well I'm not actually smiling. I'm just about to laugh at every reaction about me inside your brain." And she laughed.
" I hate you." Julie said.
"Agreed." I said and left the woman with Julie and came with the guy.
"Fine. Walk-out, I don't even need you both." She said and walked away too.
"Hey, Um, hi." I said nervously to the guy.
"Name's Richard. And you have some of your mates upstairs."
"What mates?"
"Hey are they new?" The kid upstairs with the same as my age asked.
"Yup. They are." The guy answered.
"Hey folks! Go up! I'll let you show your rooms." The kid said.
"Rooms? Were not staying here. Are we?"
"I don't know with you. It's dangerous outside.filled with hunters. Here is safe."
"Aren't you even with your parents?" I asked, cause even though I hate my mom, I still love her.
"Their dead. Because of them." The kid said and went upstairs.
"Mentioning about his parents will make him shut down for a month." The guy said. Like he didn't even care.
"What do you mean by 'shut down'?"
"He'll sleep. Wake up after a month. Forgetting everything new to his memories except his old one. Which is seeing his parents die and obviously what he learned from day care to grade 9."
"So he'll forget about us then."
"Yup."
"So were not staying here. I really need to go back."
"They know you already Noel. So you're parents won't survive the day." God. . . if my mom won't make it alive this day I really have to help her. So as soon as I heard it I ran outside, and I realized that this place is not familiar to me.
"Get me to my home." I commanded to Richard.
"Going out their will trace our scent. They'll know this place and be trapped here by he rest of our lives."
"Seriously! We need to save my mom." and Julie smirked at me.
"And Julie's parent's too. We can't let them stay there!"
"Fine." The guy said.As he got the keys to the car, we quickly got in the car and and left the safehouse.
