The Hunters

"Ok. So where does you're mom live?" Richard asked. So I pointed directions until we were in our house. "Looks like were not late." Said the woman, feeling amused. "Now let's go to you're mom." We ran in the house. Then as usual, I forgot one thing. Keys. "I don't have the key." I said and finding it in my surrounding desperately. Then Richard kicked the door. "No time for acting normal." I ran to my mom's room. Richard followed me. While Julie and the woman was guarding the door. "The door's locked." I said. "Don't tell me you're going to kick it." Richard kicked the door. Damn. "AHHH!!! KIDNAPPERS!! NOEL! GET THEM OUT OF HERE!" my mom screamed and ran to the bathroom at shut herself down. "Mom! their good. . . Just come with us." I said, while prying the door open. "Don't kick it. You're going to make her crazier." I said. "Just try to break the door knob". He didn't kick the door knob. He just crumpled it and pulled it out of the door. "AHHHH!! I'M NOT GOING WITH YOU! NOEL! WHAT THE HELL'S HAPPENING?!!" Then, in a matter of seconds she fell asleep. As I look back the woman was behind us. "I have to do it. I can feel the hunter's presence getting near. Their many. Very, many."

"Ok, then let's get outta here!" I said and dragged Mom out of the house. "Guys, we really need to get out of here." Julie said as she maybe fifty hunters with identical black jackets ran to us. One stopped. Like it was in that it saw us, and it ran away. Weird. "Ok, hand me over your mom. It will be faster if I carry her. You shoot them while you can." Then in a moment, I realize that the gun was still with me. Which Richard said that I will know how to use it. I effortlessly aimed for the nearest guy. As I pulled the trigger I just shot him. Cool. I aimed for another one and shot right in his face. "Bullets worth a lot. So make you're shot count." Richard said. "Those gun are easier to use if we use it. Like we have this kind of constant power which we have that make ONLY that gun easier to use." "No time to talk let's go." I said and ran to the car. It was only 10 meters that they were away from us. As we came in the car and and Richard started it. He pressed the accelerator and we roared in the streets. "Their fast." Julie said. "We need to loose them before we go in the safehouse." The woman complained "Dang it."

"Where did you get these guns?" I asked Richard. "From the problem we were facing I still have time to ask a question like that." Julie complained. "Let's just discuss first on what's happening. How about my parents? We didn't even pick them up."

"Their safe, cause we turned the hunters attention to us." Richard said. "Oh, I got it from my grandfather. But my father told me that those guns don't work. But I still kept them."

"You have to slow down Julie, their chasing us and this might be our end." The woman said. "Wait, how did you know what I'm capable of?"

"Just do it!" Then she closed her eyes and in a heartbeat the time slowed down. we were already losing them. We didn't bother them anymore. We just went our way to the safe house and put the car in the garage. "It's over. You can stop." Then time went back to normal. "Have you ever thought of time being a person?" Julie asked."Nope, and I never bother." Richard said and went out of the car. "Are you fine Julie?" The woman asked. "Oh, I'm fine." She said and collapsed. Good thing I caught her. "You really have to do that." I complained. "Those kinds of powers waste a lot of energy. Using them everyday without proper rest will kill her." The woman said. "So best if she sleeps after using her powers. Even though were special we still have the body of a human." After that she walked away. A body of a human? Could that mean that we don't own this body? What if were not humans at all. Well, not the time to find out. Everything happened so fast. Like Rachel leaving, and all this stuff. "Hey, are you ok?" The kid that I saw a while ago. He looks not updated on what's happening. "Don't talk to him." Richard said. "That guy has serious problems." He just said it in front of the kid. Yet he didn't bother getting mad at him for commenting like that. "What's wrong with him?" I asked. "So are you ok?" The kid asked again. Richard gave me a straight look. But I answered. "I'm fine."

"It seems to me that there's some question that is boggling your mind."

"Yes."

"You can come in the room with me." The kid said. I was about to go inside his room until Richard grabbed my arm. "That guy is nuts. Don't listen to him." And then he let my arm go free. I still came inside the room. "And what is that question?" The kid asked. "Well, the woman who has this power that let's you sleep tells me that 'Even though were special we still have the body of a human.' Do you know what she's talking about?" I asked. Waiting for his answer. "Well." He said. "Well, legend says that kinds like us used to have bodies with infinite energy. So we don't need to drink,rest or even eat. But as we overuse our powers, our bodies tend to dissolve. Cause even though it's infinite overusing it is not good."

"So you're telling me that you need to rest." I said and smirked.

"Fine our bodies need rest but except drinking and eating. And since we overuse it. Time didn't like it. So he gave us a body that has a limit. A body peculiars like us won't survive so easily."

"Wait. Did you just mean that time is a person?"

"Yup. Including legend. But not really a person, there like gods. Each of us depends on those two. Mostly they depend on time. Like you will have powers that change time or anything about time. But legend. I know someone around the world depends on legend. It will be unbalanced if we all depend on time. Time and legend created us. Oh yeah. And by the way. Do you even know what happens when our bodies dissolve?"

"what?" I asked. Making me have a suspense on the story.

"It turns to ash, and reforms to another kind. But not our kind, they have sharp teeth, sharp claws, very fast, normal people can't see them and obviously they were meant to live for anti-us"

"The hunters."

"Oh yeah. you're powers will be more effective if your god just confirmed you."

The kid said. "So, how do I make him confirm me?"

"Simple. Just prove to him that you are worthy and not a waste of his time. Having someone confirmed is a special thing. So he won't just waste time confirming random people."
