Chapter 6: Piper

Hello guys! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I've only been reading Wattpad lately because I was pissed at the writing part, it deleted my draft that was really long! Thankfully I got a better idea for this chapter and hopefully it saves.

Piper was not having a good vacation.
"Watch out!" She called to Jason, as a great slash of a claw barely missed his left ear. Their weekend in North Carolina hadn't been going too well so far, with three attacks from basiliks, and now a Chimera that had apparently escaped from Tartarus in the Doors of Death. Piper slashed at the creature with her sword, Katropis, and reduced the Chimera to golden dust, breathing heavily.  She glanced over at Jason, who luckily hadn't been knocked unconscious this time. His ear started to bleed, so he fished out some ambrosia from his pocket to heal the wound. Piper sighed.

"Well, so much for our romantic vacation, I guess."

Jason nodded slowly, still chewing.

"We should probably head back to Camp," he said.

Piper sighed again sand Jason whistled, summoning Tempest from the dark oncoming clouds. The two hopped on and rose into the sky.

All of a sudden, something heavy barreled into Piper's gut, knocking her off Tempest along with her breath. She plummeted closer and closer to the ground. She heard Jason yelling her name, muffled by the wind. She squeezed her eyes shut, so sure she'd hit the ground and head to Elysium.

But she opened her eyes last second, just as everything went pitch black before her.
