A New Apartment A New Friend

My daughter is still outside and I can't locate her. We finally go looking for her and she is holding what looks like a newborn kitten. I shake my head at her and just know she has to save this tiny thing.

I get out of my truck and notice a cat laying in the corner of the next parking spot. I grab a towel from my new linens and head over to see what's going on. I see a mommy cat with three dead kittens and she is dead. I start moving her and the kittens into the towel when one of the kittens starts wiggling. I check it over and she is completely black and with unusual paws that look like big bear paws. It is crying for food just as I try to get her and her dead family to a place where we could get them buried or cremated. Dad sees me with the baby kitten and he finds a card board box from his uhaul and we head to see a vet. We had momma and babies cremated and the vet checks the newborn over and asks us if we want to keep her. I of course take it as a sign that I should save this baby. He gives me what I will need to keep it alive and recommends that I keep it warm at all times and fed every two hours with the formula he sold us. The cremation took two days and they placed all the ashes in separate bags inside one box. I have been feeding a kitten every two hours and she is doing great. I decided to call her Elmer Fudd because I thought it was a he at first. Elmer Fudd Jensen has kept me busy between getting everything set up in the apartment. I place a bed by my work area in my office and a heating pad under a towel. I have been hearing strange noises in the apartment. No one has been in here since dad left to go back to work. He really doesn't have to work, he is a closet billionaire one that no one ever sees in public. He works quietly behind the scenes. My security has been doubled after my last book. My photos are no longer in my books. Erotica has really flown off the shelves and into women's hands and I got on the bandwagon.

Taylor said there was someone that bought the ground floor apartment after the family moved out after they started hearing noises in it. There were deaths in the apartment. Elmer is a roustabout and tries to get out the apartment door to ride with me wherever I go. I bought her a leash and a collar and have her chipped just in case she escapes. The vet was thrilled to see how she has flourished under my care. Her little cat carrier has hanging toys in the back to easily get her into it. Nothing that could cause her to get hurt. We definitely have ghost but Elmer seems to have kept them entertained. Who knew ghosts would love little Elmer. She sits in the window watching for my return sometimes. Dad has assured me that security is very tight on my next book signing and no one will know when and where I will enter the building or what kind of car I am arriving in and leaving in.

I can't wait to have my book signed by Sarah McNamara, it is her nome de plume and I can understand why she doesn't want anyone to know her real name or what she looks like. After all the book is pretty hot. It opened a lot of eyes sexually.
