The Upside Down

The group was sitting in the bleachers. Athena in her own head trying to process her powers, she didn't even notice Mike had gotten up till he came back in.

Mike- They're gone.
Athena- What?
Mike-Nancy and Jonathan. His car's gone.
Dustin-They're probably just sucking face somewhere.

Athena smacked Dustin upside the head

Lucas- Gross.
Mike - No. No way!
Athena-Did they go with the chief?
Mike-I don't know.
Eleven-No.
Mike-What? Did you see them? Do you know where they went?
Eleven- Yes.
Athena - Where?
Mike-Where did they go?
Eleven-Demogorgon.
Mike-Guys, guys! This is crazy. We can't just wait around.
Lucas-Mike, in case you forgot, we're still fugitives. The bad men are still looking for us.
Dustin-Yeah, and we don't even know where your sister is.
Mike-El or Athena can find them.
Lucas-Mike, look at them.

Mike looked at the two girls Eleven was resting her head on Athena's shoulders while Athena tried so hard to stay awake. Not sleeping for 5 days plus using her powers was making it very hard.

Lucas-I still think we should stick to the chief's plan.
Dustin-Exactly. We stay here, keep El out of sight and keep her safe.
Lucas- and Athena somehow she's connected to this too. That's the most important thing, remember?
Dustin-Besides, she's okay. She's with Jonathan.
Athena- Nancy is badass now also

Dustin starts walking away.

Mike-Well, where are you going? You just said stick to the plan!
Dustin-I am. I'm just gonna go get some chocolate pudding. I'm telling you, Lunch Lady Phyllis hoards that shit.
Mike-Are you serious?
Dusitn-El and Athena need to be recharged!

The group followed Dustin to the cafe. Lucas and Dustin raiding the fridge while Mike sat next to Eleven and Athena sat across from them with her head down. She was in that moment thinking about Steve. While she was mad at her brother for being a dick she missed him, but she was scared if he found out about her powers he would hate her. She pulled out of her thoughts when she heard Dustin yell.

Dustin-Mike, I found the chocolate pudding!
Mike-Okay! Hey are you guys feeling any better?
Athena- I'm gonna sleep for 3 weeks after this
Eleven-What's "putting"?
Athena-Pudding,
Mike-it's...it's this chocolate goo you eat with a spoon.
Athena- It's really good
Mike-Don't worry, when all this is over, you won't have to keep eating junk food and leftovers like a dog anymore. My mom, she's a pretty awesome cook. She can make you whatever you like.
Eleven-Eggos?
Mike-Well, yeah, Eggos, but real food, too.
Athena- eggos are real food
Mike- sure anyway El, See, I was thinking, once all this is over and Will's back and you're not a secret anymore, my parents can get you an actual bed for the basement. Or you can take my room if you want, since I'm down there all the time anyways. My point is, they'll take care of you. They'll be like your new parents, and Nancy, she'll be like your new sister.

Athena was very confused where this was going as she was pretty sure Mike liked Eleven.

Eleven-Will you be like my brother?

Athena let out a laugh as Mike stared at her for help

Mike-What? No, no.
Eleven-Why "no"?
Mike-Because... 'cause it's different.
Eleven-Why?
Mike- I mean, I don't know, I guess it's not. It's stupid.
Eleven-Mike?
Mike-Yeah?
Eleven-Friends don't lie.
Mike- Well... I was thinking... I don't know... maybe we can go to the Snow Ball together.
Eleven- "Snow Ball"?
Athena- It's this cheesy school dance, where you go in the gym and dance to music and stuff.
Mike- Yeah I've never been, but I know you're not supposed to go with your sister.
Eleven- No?
Mike- I mean... you can, but it'd be really weird. You go to school dances with someone that, you know...someone that you like.
Eleven- A friend? Like Thena?
