Jackie's eyes cracked open the next morning. She groaned as she began to feel aware of the weight on her chest, and she looked down to find Eddie. He had fallen asleep practically on top of her. His unruly hair had spread across her bare chest and his cheek pressed up against her skin. Most of his body had draped over her and his long, strong arms clung to her as if he were afraid that she might be gone when he woke up. A small huff escaped her lips and she ran one of her hands, the one that was connected to her right arm that he was nearly crushing, and gently stroked his hair as he slept. Eddie seemed so peaceful like this, so pretty and at ease; it would have been a crime if she didn't try to let him rest.

It was early to be awake, as she usually didn't wake up until a few hours later. She rolled her head to the side with a hum, looking across the room to the nearby wall where a blue analog clock hung crooked. The hands pointed to 6:30. Her hand ran over her face, wiping her tired and shut eyes as she groaned. She stretched that same arm out, a satisfied and wordless hum coming from her throat as she brought her arm back down and rested her hand on his back, drawing small circles along his skin and tracing the tattoos on his back.

A few moments later, Eddie woke up. He stirred awake with a whining grumble and tilted his head to look up at Jackie, his messy bangs covering his eyes. Jackie laughed lightly at his exhausted and annoyed expression. "Morning," She whispered, brushing the hair away from his face.

Eddie just squinted at this and scrunched up his face before laying his head back down on her stomach.

"Eddie," Jackie whispered again, her nails scratching along his back softly. "I need to get up."

"Why?" He murmured, his hand trailing up her side before resting and clinging to her again.

"I need to get ready," She explained gently. "I have things to do today."

He shook his head. "No, you don't."

"You can still go back to sleep, I just need to get up."

Eddie groaned, tightening his grasp on her. "Actually, you have to stay here."

She gave him an amused look. "Yeah?"

"Mhm," He sighed. "We need to go back to sleep. And you need to stay here. I don't make the rules, I just follow them."

"Oh, my mistake."

"It's the law. By royal decree, even."

Jackie chuckled at this. "But seriously, Eds," She continued to play with his hair. "I have a long day that I gotta get ready for."

Eddie groaned as she started to sit up. "No."

"Yes," She sat up in bed, inevitably moving Eddie with her. Yet, he still tried to cling to her, holding onto her waist as she moved. He sat up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. His head dropped into the space between her neck and her shoulder, kissing the skin along the area.

"You really should go back to sleep," Jackie told him with seriousness, leaning her head back into his. "It's only 6:30."

"'M already up," He explained. "And I want to see you before you go."

"I'll be back tonight," She stood up despite his protests, her feet landing on the cold floor. "I have to go meet up at the Wheeler house quickly to see what they're up to and then I have Chrissy's funeral."

Eddie flopped back down on the bed. "That's decidedly less fun than you staying here."

Jackie sighed, reaching down to the floor to grab her panties and slipping them back on. "Yeah, I know, but it's gotta be done."

He turned his head to the side, watching as Jackie started to slowly redress herself. He didn't see the need for it, but whatever she thought was best was okay with him, although he would've been completely okay with her not wearing anything. As she slipped her panties back on, Eddie began to take notice of her body. Sure, he saw her all of last night and the morning, but to see her from further away, giving him access to see the full picture, was something completely different.
