Chapter 15

A bit more than a year later

Akiko and Hanako are now one, Rui is eleven. Akiko can say a handful of words and a few short sentences and is now running around while Hanako can say papa, dada, and Akiko, stand while holding onto something but can't walk yet. Akiko can now use levitation and teleport, and Hanako can make ice with her mind. All the hashira, Nezuko and her friends sometimes come to the infinite palace. They are all friends with the uppermoons, most of them like to play with Rui, Akiko, and Hanako.

In the living room

Kaigaku is asleep on Gyutaro's lap on the couch while Gyutaro is reading a book, Douma and Akaza are in the middle of the room trying to get Hanako to walk, Kokushibou is in his usual armchair reading a book. Douma is holding Hanako to keep her up so she can try to walk to Akaza. "Hanako, come to papa." Akaza said,  reaching out to Hanako. Hanako laughed, let go of Douma, took about five steps, and fell on her butt. Douma went to grab her but Akaza signalled him not to, so he sat back down. "Come on honey, it's ok, you can do it." Akaza said sweetly. Hanako stood up, took a few steps to Akaza, started running at him, "Papa papa." Hanako said, running into his arms giggling. "You did it." Akaza said, picking up Hanako, causing her to giggle. Douma went over to them. "Good job snowflake." Douma said, nuzzling her forehead. "Snowflake?" Kokushibou asked, putting his book down. "Yeah, because it seems her blood demon art has to do with ice, and with Douma's pale skin, we decided to give her the nickname snowflake." Akaza said, lightly pinching Hanako's cheek. There was giggling from the couch. Everyone looked over to see Akiko giggling. "Snowflake, Hanako." Akiko said, giggling and clapping. "I forgot she can teleport." Gyutaro said, putting his book down. Akiko teleported Hanako to herself and they started hugging and cuddling together. "Aww~" everyone said. The door swung open, Tanjiro and Muzan came running in, in a panic. They calmed down once they saw Akiko. "Oh, there she is." Tanjiro said, walking over to the two. He bent down next to them and put kitty next to them. "You forgot kitty." Tanjiro said. Akiko and Hanako both got happy and got out of each other's hold. Akiko grabbed kitty, and cuddled the stuffed cat. "Thank you papa." Akiko said. "You're welcome honey." Tanjiro said, running a hand through his daughter's hair. "K-k-ki" Hanako started. Akaza and Douma rushed over and kneeled down next to them, so Tanjiro moved over a bit. "Kitty!" Akiko exclaimed, holding kitty out in front of her, smiling. "Ki-kit-kit." Hanako continued. Everyone was looking at her intensely. "Kit-kitt-KITTY!" Hanako finished, happy. This woke Kaigaku up. Douma and Akaza clapped "Good job snowflake." Douma said. Hanako and Akiko laughed then hugged again. "How does that wake you up, but when they cried in the middle of the night, you never woke up?" Gyutaro asked Kaigaku, looking down at him. "How would you even know?" Kokushibou asked, staring daggers at Gyutaro, looking like he was ready to kill the lower ranking moon. "Hey, do you two wanna go play with Rui?" Tanjiro asked, knowing where that conversation was going. "BIG BROTHER!" Akiko yelled, teleporting her and Hanako. "Can she control where she teleports to?" Douma asked, worried. "No but luckily she can't teleport out of the infinite palace yet." Muzan said, scared and worried. The two couples ran out, Muzan and Tanjiro going to the left, Akaza and Douma going to the right. "Now, answer the question!" Kokushibou said, standing up. "Don't worry, I sometimes like to go to his room to cuddle and other times bring him back to my room to cuddle." Kaigaku said. "Have you two done it?" Kokushibou asked, sitting back down. "Waiting till I'm twenty one." Kaigaku said, cuddling into Gyutaro. "Good." Kokushibou said.

In Rui's room

Rui was practicing his blood demon arts when Akiko and Hanako appeared behind him, on his bed. "BIG BROTHER RUI!" Akiko said loudly, reaching for her big brother. Rui turned around surprised. "Akiko, Hanako, what are you doing here?" Rui asked, scared he could have hurt them. "Play." Akiko said. "Haha, ok, what do you want to play?" Rui asked, walking over to them. "Make believe farm." Akiko said. Hanako giggled and clapped in agreement. "Ok, first I'll be the farmer while you two are cows, then you two can be farmers and I'll be a cow." Rui said. Akiko and Hanako looked at each other then back at Rui. "Moo~" the two said, before laughing and clapping. Just then the door flew open, scaring all three kids. The person who opened the door was Douma, who looked panicked then calmed when he saw the two one year olds. "Honey, Master, TanTan I found them!" Douma yelled. Akaza came running in, and kneeled down next to Hanako. "You scared us." Akaza said, hugging Hanako. "Moo~" Hanako said. "Rui? Why did she just moo?" Douma asked, very confused. "We are playing farm. They are cows." Rui said. "Ok, we will be leaving then, just wanted to make sure we knew where they were." Akaza said, putting Hanako back on Rui's bed. "Have fun." Akaza said, giving Hanako a kiss on the head, and leaving with Douma. "Right after Akaza and Douma left the room Tanjiro and Muzan came running in. "Rui, did they come straight here?" Muzan asked, while Tanjiro hugged Akiko. "Yup." Rui said. "Good job Akiko, you're getting better at teleporting." Tanjiro said. Akiko laughed. "Hey Rui." Muzan said. "Yes dad?" Rui asked. "There is a festival happening in a nearby village soon, what do you think about you, papa, and I going?" Muzan suggested. "What about Akiko?" Rui asked. "She will be here, it's gonna be a night with just you since because of how much attention Akiko needs we haven't been giving you enough." Muzan said, kneeling to eye level with Rui and placing his hand on his son's shoulder. Rui got really happy and jumped into his father's arms. "Haha, I'll take that as a yes." Muzan said. "Moo~" Akiko said. Muzan and Tanjiro looked at Akiko then to Rui confused. "We were playing farm." Rui said. "Ah, ok, we will leave you three to get back to that then." Tanjiro said, giving Akiko a kiss on the head, standing up, walked over to Rui, hugged him, and gave him a kiss on the head. "Ok, see you guys later." Rui said, waving his parents off. Muzan and Tanjiro waved back and left
