Marnie's POV

Why'd she have to be so... Gloria, she had to perfect in every single way. I met her in the gym challenge, I never thought I'd be friends with someone so bubbly and cheerful. She always seemed to make me smile and apart from Piers she was the only one who had ever seen it. Gloria was strong, capable and understanding, she always understood me whenever I had problems. We would share our troubles with each other, and during the gym challenge we decided to buy an apartment together. We both decided that if we both didn't become champion then it would be a good option to move away from Pokemon battling for a while, but we both know that's not what happened. We both got jobs that we were content with, but both heavily relied on Pokemon battles. We always chatted about the apartment whenever we hung out and about a month ago, Gloria said she was finally able to make the move. 

When we were still doing the gym challenge I heard a rumour from a dude outside of Hammerlocke, he said that if you gave an applin to the one you loved you'd be together forever. I new he was probably just trying to get an applin out of me, not that I had one anyway. I went back to the wild area before facing Bea and Alister just to catch an applin. I knew who it was for but I definitely didn't have the guts to confess to her, I wrote Gloria's name on a sticky note and put it on the pokeball. I have no idea where it is now I just hope I brought it with me. I used to keep in on my dresser when I lived with Piers, and every morning I would stare at it wondering if today was the day.

Present day and I still have not confessed to her, is she really that oblivious, I've tried to for weeks taking her on little 'hangouts' that were actually dates. I never asked but I'm pretty sure she's queer, I mean have you seen her look at Nessa, I wish at looked at me that way. Getting off track, I know what I have to do I have come clean, I have to come out to her. I'm still on the couch cuddling morpeko, thinking about the perfect way to do it, but in the end I just decide to go into our room and have a chat with her. I get up off the couch, pet morpeko and slowly open the door into our room. I find Gloria wearing nothing but a bathrobe laying on her bed scrolling through her phone, did I ever tell y'all how fucking muscular Gloria is. I don't know if she's been hitting the gym or if I'm just down real bad, probably a mix of both. Her stomach, her arms, her legs, her back everything was so toned and defined. Well, I walk up to her my face heating up as I do and gently sat myself onto the bed. I was still in my gym leader uniform so the draft coming into the room made me feel stiffer than I already was. 

Gloria had noticed me at this point but didn't say anything about the bathrobe, "hey, Marnie you doing okay?"  She questioned, " I, actually no, there's been something I've been wanting to tell you." "Shoot" she said lifting her gaze from her phone. "There have been quite a few suggestive, comments on my gym leader outfit, most coming from teenage boys during the gym battle and since your the champion I assumed you could do something about it." Marnie what the heck your supposed to come out to her not trouble her with your stupid issues. "Jeez Marnie why didn't you tell me before I would've done something earlier if I knew, I promise if I ever hear one of them horny teens I'm gonna throw hands" she half jokingly replied. "Thanks but, I think the worst part about it is that, I don't even like guys like that I uh only really like girls"  

Gloria's eyes met mine and she looked at me with the most deadpan expression I've ever seen her make, "dude are you serious, all of us knew by the time you were 15, have you seen the way you used to look at the Champion of Sinnoh, what was her name Cynthia?" I tried to look angry but I just end up pouting instead. "Well you didn't have to do me like that did you, also Cynthia is by far the best looking champion's in all of the regions"  Gloria sat up and looked at me with an alluring gaze, "oh yeah, well then what about me~" Gloria and I always used to tease eathother and jokingly flirt with eathother but lately I've been trying to come off as more serious and she doesn't seem to be getting the hint. "You really think I believe that Miss Gloria-I-wet-the-bed-on-my-first-sleepover is the hottest champion, yah no"  My heart ached to tell her how I truly feel but  I was scared to make the first move, for now I just match her energy.
