Gloria's POV

Piers picked up, I knew Marnie would hate me for asking him for help, but he was my only hope. He has extensive.. knowledge of her current state after all.

"Hey, Piers. It's been a long time, h-how's your recovery been?"

"Gloria, I've been just fine. You know, being 'treated just amazing, you know how great it feels to fall from glory and be seen as a manically insane idiot"

"Piers, this isn't time for revenge Marnie needs your help"

"I doubt she'll want it, she'll hate you for it. What's in it for me"

"Getting out of rehab, I know you've already escaped, but you'll have a clean slate"

"How'd you know I won't do it again, how'd you know I won't go apeshit after you set me free?"

"Because your a good person Piers, it was totally out of line for them to put you in such intensive... care, but whatever was there before is gone, I can hear it in your voice Piers"

"..."

"Piers?"

".. .----. -- / ... --- .-. .-. -.-- / --. .-.. --- .-. .. .- / .- -. -.. / -- .- .-. -. .. . --..-- / .. .----. -- / -.-. --- -- .. -. --."

He cut the call. He probably knows where we are. The whole of Galar does, but I doubt he'll come here straight away. He's too paranoid for that, he'll gather supplies for every situation Marnie might be in, then he'll deny caring about her at all. That's just how he is.

Just like he was before.

I slump onto the couch next to her, despite her resting for 3 days straight she looked tired. Eyebags under her eyes and her face sunken in, she didn't look in distress anymore, in fact, she almost looked content. Not happy but good enough to keep her calm for now, whatever she was dreaming of must be better than what it was before. Her lips are slightly parted, and her breaths start getting shallow, her eyebrows slightly scrunched together  I didn't know what to do so I instinctively put my hand on her face, she froze for a moment before she leaned into me. Her breathing was still erratic but less than before.

I think a small smile was on the edge of my lips knowing that she's gotten more sleep in less than a week than she usually does each battle season. I hear a guttural growl come from my stomach and I realized I hadn't eaten much, or at all since Marnie fell asleep.

'I don't want to leave her here, but I guess I better make something.'

Marnie's POV

Instantly I returned to normal, not a human blood tornado, me. Myself.

I don't think you could even start to imagine how good it felt to be in my normal body again, in the right shape at least.

The background begins to fade in slowly, colours trickling in after furniture and walls. Records fill one side of the wall with pictures decorating the other. It felt strangely homely, but still had a nice edge to it. Long grey drawers and hanging lights, walking forward there was an open, yet small, kitchen with an island and three metal bar stools. On the right, a long horizontal window, showing most of Galar. I didn't realise how high up it was until now.

'seems like Gloria has some pretty high standards for a country gal,'

After a couple of minutes of exploration, familiar people and Pokemon appeared. Morpeko, Obstagoon, Inteleon, Coalossal, and many more, all running around in some glorified playpen. Gloria was playing among them, holding berries out like treats. It was surprising how many pokemon she had now that were fully evolved here, there were some that I hadn't even seen before like Urshifu. Piers used to love telling me about that pokemon, and how cool its dark type single strike form was. Funny how Gloria has one in her dreams, knowing her she probably researched way too much about it and ended up learning more from raising it herself,

Then someone else came in, I couldn't see their face but they were a foot taller that Gloria and had terrible posture and was really lanky-

'Piers!?'

'Why the hell does Gloria want Piers in her life, she knows him she knows what he did. I don't care if the beginning wasn't his fault, he knew what he was getting into afterwards, she doesn't understand that he will just ditch her for himself after a few years. He's so selfish, what does she see in him?'

As I panicked the image in front of me shattered into hundreds of sharp shards clattering on the transparent floor as they came crashing down, some stabbing into my body leaving small trickles of blood.

'No no no no NO, I refuse to go through the same thing twice, Bea may have got to me but Piers never will'

As I tried to iron out my thoughts the image began to rebuild itself, slightly different this time.

'Gloria is thinking about her future right now?'

This times it wasn't in a fancy high rise flat, it was in our apartment. My blood ran cold, was Gloria in danger? Was I in danger? I never really thought about how much time has passed, I mean dreams only last for 2-3 seconds right? Surely it couldn't have been that long.

'But then again, these aren't dreams these are peoples truest desires. I need to know if Gloria's alright, but how do I get out of here......'
