Gloria's POV
It has been three years since I was crowned champion of the Galar region, and I have only now decided to finally move out. I mean I was only fifteen when I was crowned champion, it was quite overwhelming actually.
I moved the last of the boxes out of my room and hugged my mum goodbye. "I'm glad your making the move hunny, maybe you'll grow a set a finally ask that Marnie girl out" " Har har very funny mum, it would be weird if I liked her anyway I'm her roommate now I'm like gonna have to help her change or whatever" I said the last part quietly but somehow my mum and her swoobat ears heard. " Watch her change! Gloria you really are not aiming high enough maybe think abo-" "MUM!? WHAT THE HELL!?"
I climb into the flying taxi, and as I ascend I wave my mum goodbye. My mind starts wandering, the first time I met Marnie, it was at Motostoke when I was checking in to hotel, I had only a glimpse at her but I new we were gonna be good friends. At the time I didn't really know much bout myself, nor did anyone else, but I started to go to her for all my problems and I would just pour my heart out to her. I had developed quite the crush for her but I hadn't really figured that out until now I just assumed 'wE wErE gAls bEiNg pAls'. I didn't know until Hop and I got real drunk at the seafood restaurant in Hulburry, he tried to kiss me but I had to turn down, the main reason I used to go to Hulburry was to ogle at Nessa.
I hadn't realised but I had already landed in Spikemuth, I inhaled the smell of petrol stained metal and nostalgia coursed through my veins. The last time I had been to Spikemuth was when me and Marnie were picking out the apartment we were gonna live in. I wasn't champion at the time so I didn't know how much money we were going to be able to spend on the apartment. It had been three years since we had bought it but neither of us knew we were going to have such well paying jobs at such a young age. We got busy and just delayed the move until now.
I started to move the boxes through the long corridor that is Spikemuth when I saw a familiar pale face walk by. It was the one and only Marnie, in her gym leader outfit. It's not like her bear torso made me think about anything. "Hey Gloria long time no see!" She pulled me into a hug and that's when I kinda lost it, my nose started to bleed and my cheeks were flushing a bright red. "Gee Gloria I thought you'd be a little more excited to see your best friend after a month" she said with a pout. "All right all right then you asked for it"
I dropped my stuff and scooped her up, and started scaling the stairs with her in my arms. I had to try really hard not to drop her as well, she was burying her face into my chest and I could feel how hot it was. We made it to the top of the stairs and I pulled out the key from my jeans back pocket, leaving only one hand to hold Marnie. She tensed up at the action and gripped my waist clinging on to me. As I pushed the key into the door I could feel a furious blush rise up into my cheeks. "Okay y-you can put me down now Gloria" she squeaked out. I rushed in and dumped her onto the sofa. "What came over you to pull something like that, what if someone saw that, my cool dude demeanour would be ruined" she said half jokingly. " Marnie we're in an alleyway in the middle of Spikemuth no-one saw, you can be as friendly as you want with me" . She curled up into the sofa and giggled, "what about you Miss hot-shot champion, what if someone important saw?" "If anyone asked anything I would just say you got hurt and I was being nice" "Being nice huh, that's why your nose is bleeding right,". "Wait what, oh yeah"
