y/n's povAfter the boys and I poofed off of the stage, we went back to the garage. We didn't cross over. Apparently playing the Orpheum wasn't our unfinished business and now we were just going to be wiped from existence.
The room was pitch black and we all lied in a clump on the floor, jolts hitting us every half a minute or so. The four of us were crying, terrified for what was coming.
Alex said Julie was going to come in here once she got home, but Reggie and Luke insisted she'd just go straight to bed. I knew she wouldn't, but I couldn't be bothered arguing, I was too tired and sore.
I turned my head to the side and met eyes with Reggie. I could just make out his face in the dark, and I pushed some of his hair back from his head with a sad smile and kissed his lips softly.
"G-Get a room, you two." Luke forced a chuckle through his sniffles.
Another jolt hit us and we winced. They hurt more and more each time.
Reggie held my hand in his and kissed the back of it.
"We're so screwed." Luke said.
"Yeah." Alex cleared his throat and cried more. "Yeah."
"I really love you guys, you know that right?" I choked back a sob. "You're the best friends I ever could've asked for. Like, ever."
"Don't get all sappy on us now, Y/N." Luke said and inhaled sharply as we got another jolt.
I forced a chuckle out over the pain as my vision blurred more from the tears that filled my eyes.
Alex let more tears slip from his eyes. He coughed. "We love you too, though."
"Yeah." Reggie stared right at me. He then spoke in a whisper that was almost silent. "I love you."
"You guys are my family." I told them, squeezing Reggie's hand with a sad smile.
More sobs and sniffles came from the boys.
There was the sound of scraping just outside the door, footsteps against the pavement.
Alex shushed us before the studio doors opened and someone walked in. Julie.
She looked around the room for a moment and sighed. She thought we weren't here.
"I... I know I already said this but, uh... thank you, guys."
"You're welcome." Reggie replied.
Alex groaned in disappointment and Luke hissed at him.
"Dude!"
"Seriously?" I sighed.
Julie hurried over and flicked on the lights. We were caught.
"Hi, Julie." I said weakly with a forced smile.
"Why... Why are you here? I... I thought..."
We got another jolt.
"No... no! I thought you crossed over. Why didn't you cross over?" Julie asked panicked.
We slowly struggled to sit ourselves up.
"I guess playing the Orpheum wasn't our unfinished business." Alex said.
"Point Caleb." I sniffled and pulled myself up to lean against the armchair with Reggie.
"We wanted you to think that we crossed over, so we pretended to." Luke said, his face all blotchy. "We just... We had nowhere else to go."
"We thought you'd go straight to bed." Reggie told her.
"Yeah, well," Alex leaned against an amp as he stood up. "I knew she was gonna come out here, but nobody ever listens to me."
Another jolt and I clutched my stomach harder as tears threatened to fall again.
"You have to save yourselves right now. Go join Caleb's club. Please. It's better than not existing at all." Julie cried as she ran around to each of us. "Please just go. Go! Poof out! Do something! Please. Do it for me. Please."
"We're not going back there." I said. Reggie and I were now sitting on the arm of the chair, his head resting on my shoulder.
Luke walked over to Julie. "No music is worth making, Julie, if we're not making it with you. No regrets."
Julie had tears in her own eyes as she wrapped her arms around Luke and he hugged her back. And this time, they were actually touching, not just hovering beside each other.
"I love you guys." Julie sniffled into Luke's shoulder. Reggie sobbed a little into mine and I kissed the top of his head.
Luke then started emitting this golden light and he and Julie pulled apart.
"How can I feel you?" She asked when it finally clicked in her head.
"I... I... I don't know." Julie cupped the sides of Luke's face and he did the same to her. He grabbed Julie's hands and turned back to us. "I feel stronger."
"Y/N, Alex, Reggie, come."
The three of us joined the other two band members and we shared a group hug. Alex, Reggie and I then started glowing the same way Luke was.
"Woah..." Was the first thing Reggie said when the hug stopped. "I... I... I don't feel as weak anymore."
Luke chuckled.
"Yeah, me neither." Alex said while I looked down at my glowing hands. "Not that, you know, I was ever that weak."
We all laugh tearily at his words and my wrist had a weird twinging feeling on it.
I looked down at it and the stamp from Caleb's club was glowing gold and started floating off. The same thing was happening to the guys.
"What..." Julie gasped.
The stamps flew up above us and vanished into nothing.
"What do you think that means?" Julie asked us.
"I think the band's back." Luke sad face now held a happy smile.
"You guys think we could try that hug thing one more time?" Alex asked and we chuckled.
"Yeah." Reggie nodded and immediately wrapped an arm Luke and I for another group hug. Julie's arm that was on my back pat it.
"Hugs are good." One of the boys, probably Alex, said and we laughed again.
"I like this." Reggie pulled back for a moment.
"Me too." Julie smiled and we all kept on hugging. "We played the Orpheum!"
We started jumping and spinning during the hug.
"Whoo!"
"Yeah, we did!" Grinned Alex and we stayed like that for a few more minutes.
When we all finally pulled away I wiped my tears from my eyes and laughed.
"We're okay!" I cheered softly. "Woo-hoo!"
Reggie pulled me into his arms and hugged me so tightly I thought I was going to pop. My arms made their way around his middle and I hugged him back.
After we hugged, I cupped his face in my hands and wiped a leftover tear from his cheek. He pushed his slightly chapped lips against mine and wrapped his arms around my waist.
Luke faked a gag, Julie shushed him and I knew we were back to normal. Well as normal as a band of four ghosts and a living girl can be.
