It was Monday morning, and Caleb woke up to his little brother banging on his bedroom door yelling, "CALEB!!" Caleb said in a tired voice, "James, if you're going to wake me up, at least do it when Iris has ACTUALLY arrived!" Then he hears Iris say from behind the door, "Actually, Caleb, I'm already here, so if you want a ride, you better get up. And DON'T WEAR THAT STUPID BLACK HOODIE!" Caleb groans... "Fine, I'm getting up." Caleb rolls out of bed and stretches. Iris would always come and pick up Caleb and James on school days. Their mom always had early shifts at the hospital, and often their step-dad was hungover from the night before. He got dressed in the black hoodie. It was his favorite, and he didn't care what Iris said. She was the one with a fashion sense, not him. Caleb went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl that his mom insisted they have because she wanted the family to "eat healthier." He stepped out the door, and there was James with his head out of the door of Iris' jeep yelling, "HURRY UP CALEB, WE'LL BE LATE!" Then Iris chimed in and said, "CALEB SMITH! I SPECIFICALLY asked you to NOT wear THAT HOODIE! " Caleb just rolled his eyes and thought, "Here goes a new year with the same damn routine."
