Hyler

"This is weird." Paden said aloud. "What's weird?" Asked Jenn. I rolled my eyes and turned to her, "Was anybody talking to you? No." She narrow her eyes at me and I did the same in return. "Enough of this!" Yelled Paden surprising us all. "Hyler we took them to get some answers, not to stare at each other intensely." I nodded, "Yes, your right." I grabbed two chairs so me and Paden could sit down in front of them. I decided to start it off. "Who all did you tell about me?" Jenn smiled slyly, "Everyone. All the downers. As soon as we destroy you my people won't have to worry about "The One" for another few years. Who knows, one of us could become "The One" next." I chuckled loudly, "Please. That's never happened and never will. Downers are the vain in everyone's existence. People like you don't get rewarded with power like mine. That's why none of you have ever been past the second gift. When you become a downer, you turn sour." Jenn's veins start to pop out of her neck. She stays like this then relaxes when her phone starts to beep. I quickly pulled it out of her pocket as she smiled. I read the text then immediately dropped the phone. Paden sees my reaction and quickly picks the phone up. He sucks in the breath as he reads aloud, "We have their leader. It will end today." He looks up from the phone and back at me. I wiped the tears that fell from my eyes as I stood still, feeling completely numb.

"What the hell Jenn?!? No one said we were taking anyone!" Jenn laughed hysterically at Zane. "Oh Zane, this was always a part of the plan. You were just left out a bit. I mean, do you really think we would let you in? Trust you fully? No. You were one of them at one point, we couldn't risk it." Zane looked away, trying not to show that he was hurt. I snapped out of my slump and grew increasingly mad by the second. Out of nowhere, I pounced on Jenn like a tiger, knocking us both backwards. She screamed as I sat on top of her. I covered her mouth hard with my hand and leaned down to whisper in her ear. "If something happens to my mom, I will take a big butcher knife and stab you over and over again. Then, I'll do the same to your parents, but I'll make sure you're still alive to watch it." I got off and sat her up roughly. I knew I had hit her hard where it hurts. She tried to fight back tears as she looked down to her feet. "My people are probably freaking right now." I said to Paden mentally. "Okay, so we got to go, I got that. What are we going to do with them?" He asked in the same way. I looked at him and gestured to the dining room table. "Hand me my bag, will you?" He quickly hurries over to retrieve it. "Thanks." I said giving him a slight smile. You don't know how much I appreciate you... When his eyes lit up and he smiles at me, I know he heard my thoughts. I reached into my bag and pulled out a bottle of pills. "Why do you have those?" Zane asks and his voice cracks.

Jenn squints while looking at the bottle. "What kind of pills are those?" "Zane knows exactly what these are... and what I'm going to do with them. Isn't that right Zane?" Zane looked annoyed and as I shook the bottle loudly. I suddenly stopped and opened it. I walked over to the kitchen and poured a full glass of water. I handed it to Paden when I walked back over. "Okay, can someone tell me what kind of pills those are? I would like to know what I'm about to be drugged with?" Jenn said as she tilted her head back on the chair. "They're sleeping pills." Said Zane. "Really, really strong sleeping pills. When we were younger, our parents use to give us half of one to help us sleep. The death visions sometimes turned into death dreams. They were helpful, we slept throughout the night." "I'm giving you two." "Two!" Yelled Zane. "Are you crazy? Our mother's didn't even take that much." I shrugged, "Well I'm not trying to give you a good's night sleep Zane. I'm trying to knock you out for a long period of time. The only reason I'm not giving you three is because that might kill you." I looked over at Jenn and smiled, "Well, I might give you three." She growled at me and I laughed. "I would never kill anyone without intention, so I won't do that." I poured out four pills then closed the bottle back up. "Open wide!" I said with a cheerful smile.

They closed their mouths up tight glaring at me and Paden. I put a hand on my hip and sucked my teeth, "So, you're going to be difficult, huh?" They said nothing. "Fine!" I said with anger. I chucked the bottle at Paden and he caught it with his unoccupied hand. I then dropped two of the pills down, then took the glass of water from Paden. Jenn and Zane stared at the pills I dropped with wide eyes. I dropped them, but they didn't fall to the floor. They suspended in the air right beside my knees. "Holy-" Jenn didn't get to finish that sentence. I grabbed her mouth while it was open, threw the pills in there, and poured half the water down her throat. She coughed vigorously when I let her mouth go. Her eyes were red and teary. "You bitch! You could have made me choke!" she said still coughing. "Did you?" I asked glaring at her as I went and stood in front of Zane. I grabbed the other two pills and turned my attention to him. We just stared at each other for a minute. After a while he sighed and opened his mouth. I smiled slightly as I put the pills in along with the rest of the water. "Happy?" he asked me after he swallowed. I closed my eyes for a second and said, "Ecstatic." I handed the glass back over to Paden. I put the pills back in my bag and pulled Paden off to the side away from Jenn and Zane.

"Okay, here's what we're going to do. We're going to hang them by their feet, then tie their hands together. Within minutes the pills will have kicked in, and when that happens we can get the hell out of here. We go back to my complex, get my people, and then go rescue my mom." Paden nodded, "That's one hell of a plan. Let's get to it then, shall we?" We tied them up as planned. By that time they were passed out. As I grabbed my bag and we headed for the door, a bright light shinned through the windows blinding us. "What was that?!?" Asked Paden frantically. I went to check the window and then quickly walked back over to Paden. "They've found us, downers. We can't go out that way, they'll kill us." "That's the only way out Hyler! How else are we supposed to-" He stopped in mid-sentence. I assume he heard what I was thinking. I don't know if I'm going to like this new trait we share. "Are you sure you can do it?" He asked me. I held out my hands for him to take and he did. I took a deep breath in and said, "I guess we'll see, huh?" He chuckled nervously as we both closed our eyes. Out of the blue our bodies started to vibrate. I smiled to myself, because I knew that this meant that it was working.
