"Hey Paden!" I turned to see my girlfriend running after me in the hall. I smiled when I saw her and greeted her with a kiss. "We eating lunch together?" I frowned at her and shook my head, "Sorry babe. I have to meet my dad for lunch, he's apparently picking me up." She pouted but nodded, "Fine. I guess I'll see you in an hour." I kissed her again as I turned to leave.

I waited outside our prestigious boarding school waiting for my dad's limo to pull up. I waited 10 more minutes before I got a phone call. I sighed heavily when I saw that it was my dad's secretary, April. "Hi April." I said as I answered my cell. "So, I guess you know why I'm calling, huh?" She asked. "Dad can't make it?" I guessed. "No, he's still coming to lunch, but he can't pick you up and he's going to be a few minutes late." I shrugged, "It's fine April, I'll just walk. It's not that far away." She said okay as we hung up.

I started my trek to the restaurant my dad frequents. It was a bit cloudy and it look it was about to rain, so I zipped my jacket up and flipped my hood on. With my hands in my pockets, I was half way there already. I crossed two really busy streets with ease and proceeded walking. Just as I was about to cross another, I heard a loud horn and I turned my head. My eyes grew big and I had no time to react. Just as I was about to get hit by a big greyhound bus, something else struck me hard, knocking me out the way. I hit my head on the sidewalk, but not enough to knock me out completely.

I was a bit disoriented though, as I blinked few times. When my vision corrected itself, I saw someone on top of me. A girl... she starred down at me with her hair blowing in the wind, strange hair at that. It was bright red with orange highlights. It looked like fire almost. "Paden? Are you okay?!?" Talk to me, Paden!" I looked up at her bewildered, "How- how did you know my name?" She ignored my question and sat me up. "Your heads bleeding okay? Call 911." Before I could even respond she took off down the street. Like that, she was gone.
