After the writing..
Emanuel sighs, putting his pencil down. Luke is impressed (even though he told Emanuel what to write) that it's exactly like Jordan's handwriting.
"Woah, this is identical." Luke is astonished.
"Yeah, I know." Emanuel smirks, he's full of himself most of the time. "Wanna read it one more time?"
"Sure, I'll start." Luke looks at the notebook and begins to read out loud.
'His eyes, his face.
His scent, his trace.
His hair, his attitude.
God, I'm in love with this dude.
His nose, his mouth.
His lips, no doubt.
I wish I were able to kiss them, I want to pour my heart out.
I wish I was able to be more open.
Sometimes, I lay down and stare at my ceiling, but this feeling remains unbroken.
I love this boy, I really do.
My heart is only still beating just for you.
This weird notion,
What even is this emotion?
It's like I'm swimming in an ocean,
But it's miles away from shore.
It's like I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.
He leaves me in a daze, he leaves me in a trance.
When I see him, my heart does a little happy dance.
It beats out of my chest, but only for him.
One day, his heart, I hope to win.
By: Jordan '
"PFFFFFFFT" Emanuel tries to hold in his laughter, but you can tell he's really enjoying this. "That's really funny, Luke. This is going to work, for sure."
Luke smiles. "Alright, it's time to place it back down, then."
They make their way over to an empty hallway, only because some classes are still in session at this time. They place the notebook right in front of Pearl's locker.
Pearl is a homophobe and she loves to gossip. She already had previous beef with Jordan, so they already know what's going to happen. They run away as fast as possible, which was perfectly timed, because just a second later-
RRIIIINGGGG!!!
Doors flying open, a bunch of high school students talking, the halls grow louder and louder.Emanuel and Luke stay within a close proximity, though, so they are able to scope out Pearl and watch her reaction, or at least see if she even notices the notebook.
(Not) to their surprise, she does. She picks it up, and her friends stand behind her.
She opens it, and oh boy, Luke and Emanuel are anxious.
It takes her a few moments to process and read the whole thing. But a few seconds later-
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAH, OH MY GOD. HAHAHAHAHAHAH!"
She's laughing; Just really loudly and obnoxiously.
Pearl is pretty popular, so everyone gathers around to see what she's laughing at. Emanuel and Luke knew that they won, so they did that little "YES!" victory fist pump that people do when they win something.
In a few minutes, the halls quiet down- Which is oddly surprising. Everyone's gathered around Pearl.
"Ahem! Pffft- Okay, okay, okay! Alright; PFFT.. Okay, wait." Pearl is trying to read it out loud to everyone. Projecting her voice, she begins to read.
"His eyes, his face. His scent, his trace." She begins to laugh and she's barely started. "His hair, his attitude. God, I'm in love with this dude. His nose, his mouth. His lips, no doubt. PFFT, HAHAH; I wish I were able to kiss them, I want to pour my heart out. I wish I was able to be more open." Pearl needs another second to collect herself, and the hall is filling with giggles from the other students. "Sometimes, I lay down and stare at my ceiling, but this feeling remains unbroken. I love this boy, I really do. My heart is only still beating just for you. This weird notion, what even is this emotion?"
Pearl wheezes again. "It's like I'm swimming in an ocean- but it's miles away from shore. Hah.. It's like I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. He leaves me in a daze, he leaves me in a trance. When I see him, my heart does a little happy dance. It beats out of my chest, but only for him. One day, his heart, I hope to win."
Pearl is laughing amongst the rest of the kids, then she tells everyone to shut up. "Get ready for the best part- HAHAHAHAHA, oh my god. This is hilarious, oh lord.. Okay."
Pearl does a hand gesture and breathes in to calm herself down.
"By... JORDAN!!"
Everyone breaks into laughter, Jordan's name being tossed around. A teacher steps out of their classroom to see what's going on, and that's how Luke and Emanuel know they have to run.
