9. Ice cream at the amusement park

This is a small AU in which, after the performance of the guys in the circus, the amusement park remains for another week, giving them the opportunity to hang out there for some more time. I've been wanting to finish this chapter for a long time, but I didn't have any ideas, but yesterday inspiration came to me, and I almost finished this wonderful gentle chapter in one fell swoop. The company strolled through the amusement park, which had arrived with the circus, talking cheerfully. Emma and Ethan walked hand in hand, and Mia and River constantly teased them, which made the couple blush, but stoically withstood all the jokes. Kenny was in his wheelchair, which Stephanie was carefully pushing, and from his obviously amorous smile, everyone understood that he was head over heels in love. Actually, like the blonde herself, who had been telling him something enthusiastically all this time.

Andrea was chatting rapidly on the phone about something, and no one could understand who she was talking to and what she was saying. JD lingered, most likely trying to choose the most inconspicuous clothes, and it was probably Andrea who scolded him, because it was clear from her face that the dialogue was clearly not calm. Olivia and Julian listened attentively to what Stephanie was saying, periodically inserting their technical corrections. River and Mia walked on opposite sides of Emma and Ethan and constantly joked about them, almost choking with laughter after each joke.

Finally, they got tired of embarrassing the couple, and Mia dived in front of them, running over to her friend's side. His hand was on her waist, and he leaned toward her, about to say something. Ethan and Emma looked at this brazen possessive gesture with very shocked faces, but said nothing, looking at each other in bewilderment. River grinned, whispering something in her friend's ear, and the girl looked at him skeptically, breaking into a sly smile. She stood on tiptoe, snapping her teeth near the brown-haired man's ear, and quickly jumped away from him, running away. The guy looked slightly stunned after her, and then followed her with a determined expression on his face.

The redhead turned around for a second, sticking her tongue out at River, who was chasing her, and laughed as she ran ahead. He chuckled as he followed her. Everyone else walking behind just laughed at their obvious flirtation.

They ran forward, hiding among the people, and the group lost sight of them. As soon as they left their friends behind, Mia stopped, and River, who was not expecting a sudden braking, crashed into her, knocking her off her feet. She screamed, falling forward, and the only thing that saved her from meeting the ground was the hands of the brown-haired man who managed to react. He wrapped his arms around her back and waist, holding her in the air. The girl looked at him with wide-open eyes, and he smiled awkwardly.

- I'm sorry, - he helped her up, - I didn't expect you to stop.

- Well, - she got up with his help, regaining her balance, - at least you caught me.

He smiled, and the redhead smiled back, holding his palm, and the guy's hand was still on her waist.
When they realized that they had been standing there for too long, they awkwardly let go of each other, looking at each other a little embarrassed.

- Well, where are we going? - River smiled, holding out his palm to her, - Just no roller coasters, Mia!

The girl immediately crossed her arms resentfully on her chest, pouting, and the brown-haired man moaned in resignation, looking at her.

- Okay, okay, okay, you got it, - he covered his face with his hand, running his palm over it, - let's go on a roller coaster.

Mia squealed joyfully, grabbing his hand, and with a joyful laugh dragged him towards the attraction, which the guy was terribly afraid of. While they were standing in line, River tried to escape carefully a couple of times, but in the end Mia took his arm, and he resigned himself to defeat, exhaling in resignation.
