Initially, it was longer, but after rereading it after a long time, I decided not to write some points that I considered superfluous. I've been wanting to write something on behalf of Angus for a long time.
Enjoy reading!❤️
________________________________Angus, to be honest, never thought that he would have to deal with boys. Well, not that that's what he meant. He had a son who was already dating a girl, and the man knew that they were very serious when he looked at Daniel, who in the company of his girlfriend was just a fool in love. But he was never ready for the fact that his little, beloved girl would also grow up.
Mia never showed much attention to the boys around her, and Ranger hoped that she would always remain his little daughter, but deep down he knew that this would not happen. However, he still wasn't ready for the fact that one day his daughter would return home accompanied by a boy.
To be honest, when he looked at him, the dark-skinned brown-haired man caused him only negative emotions - well, how is it, my daughter has already grown up? She's only sixteen, what boys? And even so big compared to his fragile baby. His ideal associated with his future son-in-law (who, he hoped, would appear in ten years), simply collapsed when he saw a tall, strong mulatto with a chic appearance.
However, after a conversation with his wife, who definitely noticed the glances that teenagers were throwing at each other, the man decided to observe the candidate for his daughter's attention.
Ann also watched with him, and soon River, who often accompanied their daughter home, became a familiar phenomenon. Angus was calm about how they communicate, tactile contact and what looks they throw at each other. Mia seemed incredibly happy after meeting the guy, and the red-bearded man took this as a good sign.
But the completion of his, so to speak, approval of the guy was that he invited him to the jungle with them. He intercepted him when the brown-haired man was heading to them to take Mia to friends, and talked to him, offering to join the trip. The guy was very surprised, but also very glad of this opportunity, and therefore immediately agreed. They immediately discussed all the details, and the man let him go to his daughter. Fortunately, River also had experience with elephants, and Angus was pleased to think that the mulatto would be of a lot of use.
Due to their workload in the reserve, Angus and Donna rarely visited the camp, and therefore missed most of the interesting (and not very) events. Basically, it was the whining of Andrea, who wanted to go back to civilization, but the ranger noticed a sharp rapprochement between her daughter and her beautiful friend, if not immediately, then at least very quickly.
Upon returning from the jungle, Mia began to disappear for a longer time and usually returned after midnight, always in the company of a brown-haired man who invariably accompanied her. The man usually did not sleep until his daughter returned, watching the yard from the bedroom window on the first floor, and always saw friends hugging at the entrance to the gate.
One of the days (or nights?) Angus, as usual, was watching the yard, watching how teenagers communicate, walking across the yard towards the house. River opened the gate in front of her, letting her friend go ahead. The man nodded approvingly to himself, assessing the gentlemanly act of his daughter's friend, and continued to observe. Mia was telling something enthusiastically, and the guy was smiling while listening to her.
Angus was distracted for a second by his wife's momentary snoring, which startled him, and when he turned back to the window, what he saw knocked him out of his rut. The young guy caught the redhead by the wrist, quietly saying something to her, while slightly looking away, and the girl nodded to him with a happy smile, answering something. Their hands touched, and it was at this moment that Mia stood on her toes, awkwardly kissing the guy on the lips.
To be honest, Angus almost choked. He did not expect such a reaction from himself, because the "protective father" mechanism had turned on, and he really wanted to tear this insolent man away from his daughter and send him home. And honestly, he didn't care that Mia started it first. However, he managed to restrain himself, remembering his youth and his nightly meetings with Ann in time, slightly calming his ardor.
The days turned into nights, the nights melted away, and the weeks flew forward, and Angus continued to watch at night for the now couple who daily said goodbye on the porch. Sometimes his wife joined him, and they watched the young together. Ranger realized that only with River his daughter becomes so tender, and even to some extent began to envy. The couple returned later and later, the hugs became stronger and the kisses more confident and long, and the man really tried to suppress this "protective jealous dad".
To be honest, when Angus watched their performance at the circus, where they amazed the audience to the core, his heart finally finally thawed, and he finally accepted River as part of his family. Then Daniel and Roxy returned, and they met a mulatto, who they also quickly liked.
Only the next day Mia returned from the fair drooping, did not eat and immediately went to the room. Worried parents looked at each other, not understanding the reason why their daughter returned so early, and even alone, and headed upstairs. However, the room was locked, and they could not get anything from their daughter, except that she was not hungry.
Daniel, who stayed at home for a few days before going back to the college dorm, also did not find out anything from his sister, and with a surprised expression on his face shook his head when he came to his parents' living room.
The girl came down only for dinner, clutching a plush pony given by River in her arms, and finally deigned to tell what had happened. It turned out that River had left with the circus, and she was so upset that she just didn't want to talk for a long time. By the way she hugged her soft friend, Angus realized how much she was attached to River.
He was gone for a long time, and at first Mia could not recover from it, becoming less energetic and sluggish. However, her friends were able to bring her out of this state, and Angus finally sighed calmly when his daughter returned to the usual rhythm of life, but he still saw how she missed him.
And to be honest, when the ranger once saw River on the doorstep of their house with two gorgeous bouquets of flowers and a large gift bag, the man finally realized that he also missed this kid. He and Ann greeted him warmly, and it turned out that one of the bouquets was for her. The woman was very touched by such a nice gift, and Angus, to whom the brown-haired man gave a set of tools, which the man once mentioned when they were in the jungle, was insanely glad to have the guy back.
Mia, who came down to the noise from the second floor, first stood on the stairs in amazement, watching River communicate with her parents, and when Ann hinted to the guy, smiling and slightly shaking her head towards the stairs, he turned to her. A gentle smile immediately spread across his face as he spread his arms for a hug.
The redhead still stared at him in disbelief for a couple of seconds, and then quickly descended the stairs, jumping on him. Their lips collided so quickly that the guy almost dropped the bouquet, barely having time to respond to the hot kiss with which his beloved met.
Angus was slightly embarrassed that the kiss of his daughter and her boyfriend was longer than he had planned, but Ann nudged him in the side with her elbow, and the man stopped boring them so hard with his eyes. They hospitably invited him to have lunch with them, and River told them about what it was like to perform with the circus. After that, the couple went for a walk, and Angus and Ann looked at each other, smiling, seeing how in love the young look at each other.
They had known each other for a long time, and he liked River, he was a worthy candidate, and most importantly, Mia was happy with him. However, he wasn't prepared for the fact that he wouldn't see them on the porch at all that night.
In the evening, a text message came to Ann's phone that she and River would stay with him. Angus was confused for a while after that, but when Ann reminded him how their date once ended when they were sixteen, while their daughter was already eighteen, he calmed down a little, although he went around for a long time and talked about how teenagers grow up quickly. The woman then just made a hand gesture, laughing uncontrollably at her husband.
His daughter stayed the night with the guy.
How did he even let this happen?!Oh, yes, she was of age.
Apparently like this.
