If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't even have started writing such a sketch. So, I'm waiting for your feedback!
_____________________________Mia closed her eyes, turning slightly away so that unbidden tears would not fall from her eyelashes.
He was leaving. He was going on tour with the circus, damn it.On a damn tour! With the damn circus!
She pursed her lips, hoping she didn't look completely broken, because as much as she wanted him to stay, she wished him happiness.
Because... She loved him. Is that a strong word? Right.
River held her hands in his, a look of painful concern on his face. He leaned towards her, urging her to look at him, and the redhead turned, opening her eyes.
- I'll be back soon... - He smiled, but the smile did not touch his eyes, and sadness flashed in them, - Very soon.
Mia bit the inside of her cheek so that the emotions rushing out would not spill out, and forced herself to smile painfully.
- I'll be waiting for you, - she squeezed her eyes shut, feeling their fingers intertwine, and took a ragged breath, hoping that she would be able to hold back her tears, - T-take care of yourself.
Her voice still trembled, and she felt that if she said anything else, she would look like a horse wheezing in pain. A bitter lump of tears rose in her throat, sending chills through her. When she opened her eyes, meeting the guy's gaze, the tenderness splashing in his brown pools flooded her with her head, and she was ready to drown.
It didn't help that everyone was with them. They didn't necessarily look, giving them space, but Mia knew what they were all going through. She could almost feel Stephanie's burning gaze on her back. River smiled at her, and this time it was a small and gentle, sincere smile. He leaned closer, looking into her eyes.
- I'm going to miss you, - his palm strokes her cheek, and one tear nevertheless rolls down to leave a wet mark on the skin, which is immediately wiped by the brown-haired man's thumb, - People can't live without a heart, right?
Mia sniffs, trying to smile, but there's a question dancing in her eyes.
- What are you talking about?
River smiles, tucking her bangs, which have fallen over her eyes, behind her ear, and looks almost painfully sweet.
- My heart is in your hands, - he seems a little embarrassed, but that doesn't stop him from continuing, - And it will stay there forever.
The redhead looks at him, and everything explodes inside. Her heart is racing wildly in her chest, threatening to pierce her ribs, and Mia is almost suffocated by how painful and joyful it is to hear this at the same time. She doesn't have time to figure it out, but her body acts for her, releasing the guy's palms and pulling him to her.
Their lips collide in a scorchingly bitter but tender kiss, and for the first couple of seconds the brown-haired man blinks stupidly, and then his arms wrap around her waist. Painful tears burst through her closed eyelids, leaving wet tracks on her cheeks, and Mia almost suffocates in a kiss because it hurts so much right now.
As they separate, River whispers in her ear, "Don't cry, mi amor," and then nuzzles her cheek. The redhead clenches her jaw, but the tears continue to silently flow as she squints, hoping that this is a damn nightmare, and she will wake up now, and River will be next to her, and will not leave her anywhere.
