"Wake up!" a shout pierced through Arthur's ears.
Air was forced out of his lungs as Ellie oh-so-tenderly jumped on him with force capable of resuscitating a corpse.
"Ellie, you're too old to be doing this." Arthur barely managed to utter.
"Are you calling me fat brother?" Ellie asked with an exaggerated gasp.
Today was the day Arthur will start attending the Xyrus Academy along with Lilia who awakened not too long ago and was currently at the solid red stage. Tessia was at the Academy and would be vice captain of DC.
A lot of things happened during this time Arthur gave the blueprints of Dicatheous to Gideon after Vincent arranged a meeting between them. During the negotiations, Arthur received the Phoenix wyrm necklaces from Gideon in exchange which he gifted to Alice and Ellie on her birthday. Most of Arthur's time was spent helping Lilia train and grow as a mage aside from his own training, which was sparring with Rey by only using his earth element.
"Anyways, you better get ready soon. Lilia is already at the dining table all dressed up." Ellie announced as she left Arthur's room.
Letting out a sigh, Arthur quickly took a bath and changed into my uniform that was sent by the Academy. It was a regular scholar mage uniform and not the special DC uniform, since on the first day, all first years are supposed to be in uniform issued by the school for orientation. As Arthur changed and went downstairs with Sylvie on his head, he saw Lilia already waiting for him at the table in her uniform having breakfast.
"Took you long enough to get ready! Who are you trying to impress?" Alice wagged her finger at Arthur while Tabitha and Lilia giggled.
"I think we all know the answer already." Lilia started with a sly smirk, which Arthur just ignored and took his seat.
"I see that both of you are wearing the necklaces I gave you," Arthur noted while my mouth was still full of oatmeal and fruit.
"Yup, why wouldn't I when it's such a beautiful piece of jewellery? I wish your father had half the amount of sense that you do," Alice sighed, fiddling with the Phoenix Wyrm ornament.
"All my friends are jealous because of how pretty it is! Be sure to get me things like these more, okay Brother?" Ellie leaned forward on her chair as she talked excitedly.
"Sure," Arthur responded dismissively.
"Sorry I'm late for breakfast, I got carried away with my training!" Reynolds came in, quite evident he had been training from the beads of sweat rolling down his face. "Anyways, my boy is already going to school. I can't believe it. Looks like we raised Arthur well, right honey?"
"What do you mean 'we'? I was the one that raised him," Alice scoffed, giving him a sly grin.
"I guess the only times I raised my children were when they got into trouble then?" Rey raised a brow.
"As long as you know," Alice stated matter-of-factly, causing the whole table to chuckle.
While everyone in the Helstea manor was laughing and having their breakfast in Xyrus Academy, Tessia was also preparing for her first day of school. She was excited to say the least since according to the schedule she received from Cynthia, she and Arthur were having nearly all of their classes together and not to mention being in the DC as captain and vice-captain meant they're gonna spend a lot of time together which Tessia was looking forward to since she knew they won't get so many opportunities in the future.
After getting into her uniform and having one last look at herself in the mirror Tessia exited her room. She was wearing a regular scholar mage uniform unlike the Student Council uniform she wore in the original timeline. She already had her DC uniform in her room which she was supposed to wear after the orientation.
After exiting her room Tessia made her way towards the Academy gates in hopes to catch Arthur when he comes. She didn't stand in front of the gate as it may attract unwanted attention instead waited in the corner away from prying eyes.
Fortunately, she didn't have to wait much since in a few minutes a carriage caught her attention. More accurately a familiar set of auburn hair. Tess didn't rush to him instantly instead since they decided to keep their relationship a secret at least for the start of the school year.
As Arthur and Lilia made their way out of the carriage Tess slowly made her way towards and started walking beside them naturally. Sylvie noticed Tess and instantly jumped in her arms as Arthur gave Tess a warm smile.
After the greeting all of them made their way towards the auditorium and took their seats. Though they caught the attention of several eyes because of Tess, no one paid them much thought since many of them were first years and they didn't know Tess's identity as princess.
The auditorium was filled with noises of excited children. The three didn't pay them much mind instead sat at the empty seats they found.
Suddenly, a sharp blur focused into form and Director Goodsky appeared standing behind the podium.
By this time, many more of the incoming first years noticed her and began talking even louder, some cheering, but when Director Goodsky's hand reached the level of her head, everything went dead silent.
"Excuse me for my rudeness, but I do hate speaking up. Not good for my throat, no it is not," she said in a pleasant voice that—while soft—was heard perfectly clear, even from here in the back row.
"I welcome everyone here, the future leaders, scholars and powerhouses of Dicathen, to this humble academy. I am Cynthia Goodsky. Please call me Director Goodsky and do not be afraid to say hello when I walk around campus. I am no good with speeches so I stand here before you mages today to say hello, and introduce to you the Student Council that will represent this academy and take part in making important decisions along with me. Please give them a warm welcome." She waved her raised hand and one by one, members of the council started walking out.
First to walk out where Jarrod and Fable, who Tess recognized from working together at the student council in the original timeline. They were followed by two unknown girls who were probably there since Tess and Lilia weren't and at last but not the least was the student council president Clive Graves.
Clive started his speech and everyone except Tess and Arthur were listening to it intensely. Tess and Arthur completely ignored him for two reasons, first he was not someone worth paying attention two and second they had each other's company.
After the orientation was over the group were the first to leave the auditorium and after a trip around the campus which was mostly for Lilia's sake since it was her first time here the group separated.
Lilia made her way towards the regular dorms while Arthur and Tess made their way towards the student council dorms where they'll be staying since they're the captain and vice captains of the DC.
Arthur entered his room to see it had a huge bed along with a coffee table with two couches facing each other, a close and personal desk. There was a box on his desk which Arthur opened to reveal his DC uniform.
Arthur looked at his trunk at the corner of the room and let out a sigh. "Let's get this over with."
After an hour Arthur put on his DC uniform as he was done with arranging his clothes in the closet. He planned to pick up Tess and go to the cafeteria. As he was in his thoughts a sudden knock on the door caught his attention.
Confused as to who it was Arthur walked towards the door and opened it to reveal Tess in her DC uniform she was wearing black pants and a military style shirt and was holding a tray.
"I thought we could have our dinner together." Tess explained with a bright face.
"I was having the same thoughts." Arthur smiled back as he allowed Tess to enter and closed the door behind her.
