Tessia's Second Chance[Hiatus]

Chapter 8

Arthur, Tessia and Virion were currently riding in a carriage, on their way to Xyrus Academy to get Tessia enrolled. 

It was decided that they'll drop Arthur at the Helstea manor so he can reunite with his family, and he'll come to the academy later to visit Cynthia. 

"Kyu." Sylvie groaned from Tessia's shoulder. 

"Looks like someone is already missing the beast glades." Arthur chuckled, pulling Sylvie's cheeks. 

Just after Sylvie hatched, Virion arranged a ton of high ranking beast cores to allow Sylvie to train, giving her the chance to grow faster. After a while, they decided it'd be good to let Sylvie train on her own so they took her to the Beast Glades. Since the ambient mana in Elenoir is dense, Arthur was still able to stay In contact with Sylvie while she hunted beasts in the glades. 

"Art, take this." Tess started handing him a small box. 

"What is it?" Arthur asked curiously, taking the box. 

Arthur opened the box to see it had a ring with a green stone imbued in it. Arthur hadn't seen a dimensional ring till now, so he had no idea what type of ring this was. Clueless, he turned towards Tessia for an explanation.

"That's a dimensional ring, you'll need it when you start attending the academy under grandma's tutelage. And it's a lot better than the small ring you originally had." Tess responded with a smile. 

"Tess, I can't take somethi-" Before Arthur could continue, Tess interrupted.

"Yes, you can." Tess smirked before continuing. "And I'm sure Ellie will be sad if her dearest brother didn't bring her a gift today."

"What do you mean?" Arthur asked, narrowing his gaze, not sure where this was going.

"Well, you'll have to give her a gift since it's her birthday." Tess responded matter of factly.

"What?! Today is Ellie's birthday? Why didn't you tell me?" Arthur asked in a baffled tone. 

"Maybe it slipped my mind." Tess responded with her signature 'teehee' expression. "Anyways, I already got you a gift for Ellie, and if you want it, you'll have to accept the ring." 

Arthur sighed, shaking his head before responding reluctantly."Fine, I'll accept it."

Virion, who was sitting right beside them, roared in laughter. "You, better be careful brat. You can't let her keep making you dance on her palm."

"Well, I for one am quite enjoying it, since he was the one who used to do it." Tess responded with a chuckle. 

"Don't worry, you won't be getting many opportunities in the future." Arthur spoke confidently.

"We'll see." Tess responded dismissively.

A knock from the driver brought everyone's attention to him. "We're arriving at Helstea manor."

"Alright brat, this is where we part ways. See you later." Virion turned towards Arthur. 

The carriage stopped and the driver opened the door for Arthur. 

"Alright, good luck for your exam Tess. See you guys later." Arthur waved at them before jumping off the carriage.

"See you later Art. And there are two boxes in the ring. The smaller one is the gift from you and the larger one is from me." Tess waved goodbye as the carriage started moving forward.
