Tessia's Second Chance[Hiatus]

Chapter 13

Arthur and Tessia were currently in a carriage going towards Helstea Manor to meet Arthur's family. It was half way through the morning and everyone in Xyrus was following their daily routine. Sylvie was sleeping peacefully in Tessia's lap.

"I can't believe we made it all the way here." Arthur started with a chuckle.

"What do you mean?" Tess asked, with a confused look.

"With how much time you were taking to pick up a dress I started to doubt we'll even get out of the academy till night." Arthur responded with a sigh.

"Hey, I just wanted to look presentable and make a good impression in front of your parents. I know they wouldn't mind much but I at least wanted to look better than I did when I met them for the first time in the original timeline." Tessia responded slightly, punching Arthur's shoulder."

Since in the original timeline Tessia met Arthur's parents in the infirmary she was in a hospital dress and had bandages over her. Even though they wouldn't have minded much Tessia wanted to look presentable in front of them. So she took extra care in picking up her daze making Arthur doze a few times during that time.

Tessia nwas wearing a white sleeveless dress which ended right above her ankles and had golden and silver lining at the edges. Meanwhile Arthur, just being Arthur, was wearing a simple white shirt with black pants.

"Okay, I get it. But how come you needed two hours just to pick up a dress with two lifetimes of experience?" Arthur asked, turning towards Tess.

"Let me answer that with another question. How come it took you thirteen years to understand your feelings for me despite two lifetimes of experience that's even more than mine." Tess retorted casually.

"B-Because I was never good at them in the first place." Arthur responded while stuttering.

"That's the same for me. No matter what you do or how experienced you're. You can never be perfect in dressing up." Tess responded with a shrug.

Arthur opened his mouth to retort but gave up remembering the same thing happens with nearly every woman he knew so he just accepted it as a common logic for all women. After a few minutes of riding, Arthur and Tess finally arrived at the Helstea manor.

"We've arrived." The driver opened the door, tipping his hat.

"Let's go." Arthur asked Tess to follow him with a smile.

Sylvie woke up from the sudden moment realizing they've arrived. She left Tessia's lap and jumped on Arthur's head.

As both of them exited the carriage Arthur handed the driver a few coins and then started walking towards Heltea manor with Tess right beside him. Though thanks to Virion Arthur's parents knew about his girlfriend, Arthur didn't tell them he'll be bringing her over to meet them to keep it a surprise. Arthur left the manor early in the morning after breakfast saying he was just planning to stroll around the city. As Arthur and Tessia arrived at the main door of the manor Arthur knocked on the door.

"Coming!" A familiar voice called out.

Soon the door opened to reveal Ellie. As she noticed that at the one standing on the door was her brother along with an unknown girl her gaze instantly started shifting between two of them. Arthur just chuckled at her sister's antics.

"Uhm, may I help you?" Ellie asked, turning towards Tessia. "Brother who is she?"

Ellie slightly whispered so that only Arthur could hear but unfortunately for her Tessia also heard it loud and clear.

Tessia giggled before raising her hand towards Ellie and responding. "You must be Eleanor right, Arthur's little sister, you're even prettier than I thought. I'm Tessia, his girlfriend. Nice to meet you."
