The rushing sounds of maids and butlers hustling and preparing echoed in Artemis' ears. Her breaths deepen every exhale. It was the first time in six years she and her brother would go out in public. The Han children have been kept in hiding since they were five years old. Ever since the assassination attempt in Greece, Seong Han and Xeni Stravos have been wary of letting their children go out in public. But one Monday morning as the children were out playing in the garden, two letters flew in addressed to Artemis Han and Apollo Han. They read "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry". The twins had been anxiously waiting for that certain letter the whole summer of 91'.
They didn't get the chance to go to Diagon Alley in London to go shopping for their school supplies. Instead their maids went and bought all the necessities. Even Madam Malkin took a special trip to the Han Manor to measure the twins for their robes. Artemis wanted to go to Ollivanders' for her wand but her parents decided to have their wands specially made for the twins. Artemis couldn't be ungrateful so she took the wand with a graceful smile. Her wand was 12 ½", cypress wood with a dragon core. At the bottom was carved a moon with trees. And her brother's wand was also 12 ½", but made of laurel wood and a phoenix feather core. At the bottom of his, was carved a sun with musical notes.
Artemis stared at her wand in her hand as Hoshi, her cat, brushed his gray fur against her leg.
"Miss Artemis, you mustn't be late. The train leaves in an hour" Miss Brown spoke up.
"Yes Miss Brown" Artemis smiled.
Artemis followed Miss Brown down the spiral staircase to the front where the driver and butler waited patiently by the door.
"Ah Miss Artemis I'm glad you could join us" Cravin sarcastically said.
"Sorry Cravin, I was lost in my head" Artemis smiled.
"Well hurry along Miss Artemis, Master Apollo is already in the car" Cravin smiled back at her.
Miss Brown handed Cravin, Artemis' last luggage bag to put in the car.
"Finally you're here" Apollo rolled his eyes, "why must girls take so long?"
"Why must boys be so impatient?" Artemis clapped back.
Miss Brown got in the car beside Apollo.
"Where's mother and father? Are they going to meet us there?" Artemis wondered.
"I'm sorry your father and mother won't be able to make it. They had to take care of important business in Tokyo" Miss Brown replied.
"What? Why? Don't they know today is our first day of Hogwarts? We are important too, you know!" Artemis exclaimed.
"Not important enough" Apollo murmured under his breath.
"Hush now Apollo. Artemis you know your parents wanted to be here to see you off. Complications intervened and they needed to go. Your parents love you both very much and it hurts them not to be here today" Miss Brown tried her best to comfort the twins.
It's nothing new for their parents to disappear during the most important events. For example, for their first words, their parents were in Barcelona for work. And for their first steps, they were in America for a wedding. And the time before that, well you get the idea. Being descendents of some of the biggest names of the wizarding world comes with lots of baggage. I mean their father is the descendent of the founder of the wizarding school of China. His maternal side are descendents of the royal family of the Unified Silla Dynasty from Korea. Now for their mother, her maternal lineage stretches back to the royal family of the Aztecs. Her paternal lineage goes back to the royal family of Macedonia. It is also important to note that it is said that they are descendents of Hecate, the Greek goddess of magic. But that's just a myth, or is it? Both of their parents are also part of the oldest pure blood families in the wizarding world. To say the twins are intensely important is an understatement. With that said, the twins are nothing like you'd imagine them to act.
