Johnny: Alright so just hold up the sign and spin it around a little bit. But make sure people are able to see it.
Max: I'm pretty sure I can manage holding a sign.
When Max showed up to Cobra Kai today, Johnny approached him with an offer of a "job". In reality he was just going to pay Max a few bucks to stand there with the sign. Johnny had recently decided to start advertising to try and attract some business. Seeing an opportunity to earn some easy money, Max accepted.
Johnny: Just hold up the sign and you'll get your money.
Max: You got it.
Johnny went off to try and hand out some flyers, leaving Max. Max stood there for hours holding up the sign, however it only attracted negative attention. A few passersby yelled profanities while a few others threw things, luckily Max had the sign as a shield. After a while Max decided it wasn't worth it anymore, so he decided to sit outside of the dojo. Soon after, Miguel showed up for training.
Miguel: Hey Max, what are you doing here?
Max: Don't ask.
Miguel: What's with the...
Max: Don't ask.
A few hours later Johnny showed up and saw the two.
Johnny: Hey what happened, I thought I told you to stay out there all day.
Max held up the sign.
Max: You see this, these are stains left from people throwing things at me. The only thing I attracted was negativity.
Johnny: Well, that makes two of us.
Miguel: Hey sensei where were you? We were supposed to start training hours ago.
Johnny: Well practice is cancelled today.
Johnny entered the dojo, with Miguel and Max following.
Max: Hey where's my money?
Johnny: In a sec, you'll get your few bucks.
Johnny pulled some bills out from his desk and handed it to Max.
Max: Good luck with the training Miguel.
Miguel: Thanks, see you around.
With that Max disappeared.
(a few days later)
Max watched Miguel as he demonstrated his new moves. In just a few days Miguel had improved his skills, now able to break boards in half.
Max: Good job man, I'm surprised by how you have improved.
Miguel: Thanks Max, sensei's training has really proven to be affective.
Max: Yeah, his questionable training methods.
Max had learnt how Johnny had taught him how to kick.
Johnny: Hey, it worked in the end.
Max: Can't argue with that, plus I really shouldn't be criticizing you. My sensei put me through much worse.
Miguel: I wish my mom could see me, then again she would be pissed.
Max: Speaking of which when do you plan on telling here.
Miguel: Eventually....maybe.... she'll probably be the one that finds out.
Johnny: Hey Miguel get your costume on, I'm driving you to that dance. We can pick up more students there.
