Chapter Text
“Fuck,” Dream hissed as he rolled over to his side, the sharp obsidian digging into his bruised ribs as he tried to find a comfortable way to sleep. Quackity’s torture session that day hadn’t been as bad as it usually was. Maybe it was becoming too much effort to even torture Dream; maybe it wasn’t really worth it because the blonde had not given up the revival book for two weeks now. The prisoner just prayed that Quackity would eventually just get bored and give up.It was the only week after that Dream gave in when Quackity began to practice even more cruel torture methods, which Dream didn’t even know was possible. Dream thought his willpower was stronger than it was, but it didn’t help that Quackity was cutting him open and breaking his bones every single day. It didn’t matter if Dream died or not, the cell was constructed to include a respawn mechanic, Dream couldn’t even fully die, even if he wanted to. The torture only stopped when Dream agreed to Quackity’s wishes, writing out the reviving process in a book with shaking hands and almost illegible writing. Dream could remember Quackity smiling as he grabbed the book from the blonde, leaving the cell shortly after.
Dream should’ve known that Quackity was tricking him. He should’ve known that Quackity had made the compromise so that he would stop the torture, it didn’t mean that he would be let out of the prison. The prisoner had come to that conclusion when he realised that the rest of the server just left him to rot in the cell, there were no signs of being let out. Any hope that he had was crushed, dreams of him getting out and trying to live a peaceful life, even making amends, were gone. He was going to spend the rest of his life in the dark, burning and escapable cell that was supposed to be humane and not...like this.
So Dream did the only thing he could think of, which was opening up the admin console.
/gamemode spectator
Dream could feel every bone in his body turn weightless and he couldn’t see his own body anymore. He passed through the walls of the cell, through the lava and through the obsidian layers of the prison. Dream finally made it out of the prison after spending months inside, ruminating. He didn’t even know where he was going as he wandered aimlessly throughout the sky.
Dream suddenly felt weak and lightheaded as his body became corporeal and he began to fall. After being tortured and starved for so long in an obsidian box, his body couldn’t handle the admin energy that was coursing through his veins. He crashed through the branches of spruce trees, the wind being knocked out of him as his stomach collided with a particularly thick branch. Dream laid there for a while, hanging over the branch before slipping backwards and hitting the ground.
He groaned, rolling over and pressing his cheek against the cool grass. Wait...grass? Dream was on his side now, clutching his stomach and curling up into a fetal position, trying to spend the most of his last moments enjoying his freedom. His ribs were also fucked, and he knew that he shouldn’t have been laying on his side, but he already knew that he was going to die, it was inevitable at this point and there was nothing he could do. His body was dying from forcing himself into spectator mode; not to mention that he also abused his admin powers and he knew XD wouldn’t be happy with him.
But he was going to die anyways, and the only thing Dream could think about was how dull everything seemed to get. His breath was ragged and a wave of drowsiness washed over him. Dream let everything go, he was ready to die, anything was better than the inhumane cell he had spent months of his pitiful life in. Dream closed his eyes and accepted the void that was beckoning him. He just hoped every person he hurt on the server was doing well now, especially since it was his death that would bring them happiness.
