Niki pov~
I almost screamed when Portal, Karl, Sapnap and Quackity came crashing right next to me.
The meeting had been temporarily put on hold to wait for Portal, and the rest of the heroes were taking the chance to mingle among themselves, so to say we were all surprised when the group appeared would be an understatement.
Karl tripped over Technos cloak, falling face first infrount of the dream team and Sapnap managed to fall on top of him as well, while Quackity used his wings for once and flapped a few feet into the air before grabbing onto a lose bar and hanging off the ceiling, looking just as surprised as the rest of us, and Portal did a back flip and landed in the empty spot where they were meant to stand anyway.
A few beats of silence passed with George helping Sapnap and Karl back onto their feet while the rest of the heroes were pretty much all staring at Quackity. I mean I cant blame them, for one he was hanging of the ceiling, but he had also used his wings infrount of us which was extremely rare, normally he only uses them as a reflex or to jump out the window,
"errr... Quackity? You can come down now mate." Phil said, his face full of pure confusion but also... concern? I didn't have time to ponder over it as Quackity let go of the bar and landed on the floor, putting his wings out for balance for a split second before quickly snapping them back into place, and Phil winced at the speed. Did it hurt to close their wings that fast? If so why did Quackity do it?
"Sorry! Its just a reflex to get as high as possible when surprised. Avain thing." He swiftly moved to sit down on the first available seat, which happened to be right next to Sam, one of the few heroes who doesn't have anything against him and is willing to strike a conversation with the winged hero.
"Anyhoo, now that our final Syndicate member is here, lets resume shall we?" Phil started, "I'll just hand it straight to Niki and Portal as Techno and I have already spoken." He chuckled, gesturing for me to speak,
"Well not to much has happened I have to say, but I've seen so much support for the female heroes recently which is nice as there's only Hannah and I," Hannah was an underground hero so the public didn't really see her as much, but she was still a badass, "urm... oh and the syndicate donated to a small mental health charity this month as well!" I spoke with a smile on my face, I truly cared about the mental health of this generation.
The heroes clapped and I looked back at Portal, and it was very clear that they didn't want to talk so I stepped in for a second, "So this is Portal, they use sign language by the way so I'll talk for them as you probably cant all see their hands!" I laughed and I could feel the gratitude in their eyes. They started signing and I merely spoke what they were trying to say,
"Hello there, my names Portal, I only recently joined the syndicate. Todays my third day here! I was a vigilante in the bench trio, so some of you might already recognize me or my name. My enhancement is teleportation and yeah, that's all I really have to say." My team mate put down their hands but I had one final thing to say,
"Portal also uses they/them pronouns by the way so please don't get that wrong. Their also selectively mute and only talk around people they trust or feel comfortable around so don't be disheartened if you don't hear their voice."
Portal started signing again so I once again played the role of the communicator, "while what Niki said is true, I will also speak if my hands are preoccupied, if I'm using a communicator or if their isn't really time to sign such as if were in the middle of a fight or something." The heroes nodded and all mumbled a 'welcome'.
We sat back down and the rest of the heroes one by one gave their monthly report.
Ranboo pov~
"And so yeah, that's all I really have to say this month!" A hero by the name of Slimecicle cheerily finished up with, marking the end of the heroes individual speeches.
Phil stood back up and clapped his hands, making me flinch slightly, but Quackity nudged me with his wing and it grounded me once again,
"Right so now to the most pressing matter." His tone because one of deadly seriousness, " there is a villain that has been becoming increasingly dangerous, they've been around for about a year, but only recently have we truly had concern to bring it up." I froze slightly, not enough for it to distract any of the heroes though, "this villain goes by the name of EnderNight, or Ender and we don't really have any good pictures of them and they move to quickly for us to identify anything clear in videos, but I'll show you some later on." All the heroes were now intently listening, keen to find out more, but I shrunk back into my seat, trying to make myself seem as inconspicuous as possible whilst internally screaming that Phil had brought my villain name up.
"Ender seems to have some sort of hybrid shifting enhancement but its not entirely clear. They appear to have enhanced agility, speed, strength, dexterity, senses, night vision and jump boast, and paired with their sharp claws, fangs and tail that they can seemingly turn into a blade makes them a deadly opponent. Ender seems to only attack heroes which is the interesting part, they only go after heroes in secluded areas." Wilbur butted in on that part,
"So they don't go after civilians?" he asked,
"No mate they don't, I even have some footage of them stalking Scot in a public place, but only attacking once Scot had moved to a much less populated area. It's unclear if this form they attack in is their natural skin, but I highly doubt it, I believe that this is just a form that they can shift into, and that they have a regular human skin for daily life." Well he got that part very much right.
This was my second enhancement, and it was my most powerful. Hybrid as its called, lets me shift into the form he was discussing, but it also gave me my teleportation abilities, but I didn't need to be shifted to use them.
"So," he paused and clicked a button on the wall, turning it into a screen with a play button in the center, "this is the footage I was talking about where they are stalking Scot, bearing in mind that this only happened 11 days ago." He pressed the play button and the screen played the video.
Basically Scot had been patrolling down a busy high street and I was watching him from a ruined building above, I was against harming civilians which is why I hadn't attacked. This continued on for a few minutes until Scot used his enhancement to quickly boost into the air and land in a secluded neighborhood, which is where I attacked. I remember the battle was short and sweet, and Eret and Foolish, who had been patrolling with Scot, had had to come and rescue him. i got away of cause, leaping behind a building before teleporting away, but that hadn't been caught on camera. I didn't use my teleportation abilities while being EnderNight, I couldn't let the heroes or anyone make the links between my villain self and my vigilante self. The video ended with Foolish creating a portal and practically dragging Scot through it.
There were murmurs among the heroes and I turned to look at Quackity to see if he would recognize my villain form.
And sure enough I think he did.
He was extremely pale with his eyes wide, his feathers were all spiky and he was frozen. Phil apparently noticed this and so addressed him,
"You all right Quackity mate? I know its quite shocking but i-" Phil started before being cut off,
"I know them." Quackity spoke softly, but in the dead quiet of the room everyone heard him.
A few beats past before Wilbur spoke up, "how do you know this villain?" He asked with a slight accusation and confused in his voice. Quackity broke from his trance and looked over at Wilbur,
"Because Siren. Four years ago this villain saved my life." Quackity stood up and quickly walked out of the room, I also stood up and teleported to his side, going with him out the room as I could hear the instant commotion his statement caused.
