I glanced at Jack for a short moment, who eyes were already gazing on mine. He smiled and I rapidly looked back at my mum and Jim, already feeling my cheeks turn pink at his stare.
He chuckled as I lightly touched my hair and straightened the top of my dress, suddenly feeling 10 times more self conscious with Jack's probable stare.
I nervously looked back at him, his mouth forming a slight smirk.
"What are you smirking about?"
"You're so funny when you're self conscious, you know that?"
"Oh god, don't even start." I rolled my eyes, really not wanting to hear that speech.
Jack chuckled as he took my hand and firmly laced his fingers in mine, his eyes soft and dancing with laughter.
"Fine, I won't start on how ungodly gorgeous you are right now, Noelle, just someone has to tell you."
"Jack, just stop." I laughed, hitting his arm out of pure annoyance.
"It would be my honor to stop showering you with the truth, Ms. Noelle." He said nobly, taking my head in hand and firmly planting a kiss on my forehead.
"I can't believe you right now." I grumbled.
I glanced over at my poor brother, who stood uncomfortably by Jack with his hands on the sides of the pews and his eyes floating between mine and his shoes.
"Do you not believe me?" He chuckled, his arms still managed to be wrapped around me.
I groaned in reply and tucked my head further into the crevice of his chin.
"I don't think she believes me." Jack told Tim, who's eyes immediately flashed with confusion and cheeks began pink at the attention.
"W-wait, believe what?" Tim stuttered.
"She doesn't believe how hot she looks in her-"
"Shut up!" I put my hand over Jacks mouth and glared at him with unfortunately not-so serious eyes. "You're seriously embarrassing!"
Tim smiled comfortably (for the first time in a while) and laughed. "I don't think I want to be in the middle of this."
"What Tim's trying to say is that you should stop telling me about my appearance right now, right Tim?"
"I... um, I think I'll just- " Tim flushed. "I'm going to talk to Aunt Tammy now, ok?"
"See, you scared him away." I told Jack as Tim quickly escaped.
"My bad." Jack grinned. "I had a point to prove."

The next hour was spent taking the wedding entourage to the reception tent in a nearby park, picking up extra cups for the dinner by request of Noelle's frantic mother. The tent was a smaller, white structure that had practically thousands of dinner tables wrapped in tulle under it with vases of blue flowers in the middle of them. Soft jazz music flowed out of the tent and into the parking lot, responsible probably by Jim.
"Oh, the cups, thank God." Noelle's mother breathed as she took them and busily set them on the buffet table and turned back to us.
"So- how is everything so far?" She asked, placing her hands on her hips.
"The service was simply spectacular, Mrs. Paterson-Smith." I grinned.
"Gosh, I suppose you can start calling me that." She thought. "But it wasn't too long at all?"
"No, no, it was perfect." Noelle reassured. "I promise, everyone loved it."
Noelle's mother soon was brought away by Jim, who lead her to the head banquet table. The other guests quickly filled the tables and left Noelle and I at the end of the head table next to the other bridesmaids and groomsmen, our elbows practically colliding at the tightness of our seats.
Noelle and I ate our dinner quicker than anyone else at the table, quickly getting our fair share of cake after. At around 7 the tables were cleared of the tulle and taken out from under the tent, creating the grand reception floor. The jazz music slowing turned into Bee Gees and the dance floor was quickly filled practically thousands of dancing unknown relatives.
Noelle stayed planted in her chair firmly, her face giving me a firm no.
"Please?" I stuck out my hand.
"I'm not dancing to the Bee Gees." She told me.
"You're so lame, oh my gosh." I rolled my eyes."C'mon, it's what won your mother's heart."
Both our heads turned to Jim and Noelle's mother, both dancing to the Bee Gees as if it was their last time doing it.
"Well, it's sure not going to win mine." Noelle smiled.
I chuckled and shook my head. "Gosh, you are just.. something."
I sat down next to her in defeat, her smile wide. We sat and watched various couples dance for the next 20 minutes, each song hoping Noelle would finally take my hand and leave her familiar seat. Each time she'd give me the same glare or promise the next song- each time denying it and getting another glass of punch.
At around the 5th song a crooked old women with a brown oak cane came hobbling over, Noelle immediately popping up from her seat and greeting the probable mother of Noelle's mother.
"Jack, this is my Grandma, Lilly." I shook the frail, yet firm hands of the bright-eyed women and smiled at the resemblance I saw.
"What a looker you truly are, Mr..."
"Jack, it's Jack." I grinned. "It's a pleasure to meet you too."
She glanced at Noelle and looked at me with a wide smile.
"See, I don't know if anyone has told you, but Noelle has never brought home a boyfriend, so you seem to be-"
"Grandma, I don't think-" Noelle flustered, covering her cheeks with embarrassment.
"-Noelle, the boy needs to know his place here." Lilly reassured her granddaughter sternly. "I always figured such a gorgeous girl like herself would have to have a very nice boy like yourself qualify for a possible fiancé."
"oh, we aren't really-"
"We're not really engaged."
She sighed and gave me a knowing smile. "Well, yet." She lightly placing her hand on my shoulder and mouth up to my ear.
"You take care of my Noelle, alright? I have a slight feeling you're going to be here for quite some time." She whispered, adding a wink at the end.
I felt my cheeks flush as Lilly turned to Noelle, who's eyes were still filled with confusion.
"And Noelle, dear, you look absolutely stunning." She added. "Almost making your mother look bad."
She smiled at both of us and slowly hobbled away to the buzzing dance floor.
"Do we look engaged?" Noelle laughed.
"Probably." I couldn't help myself from grinning.
Noelle rolled her eyes. "Oh, please."
"You see, it would just-"
I was interrupted by the hand of Noelle being drawn away by her brother Tim onto the dance floor and my own by her sister. Noelle frantically looked my way as Tim formally danced with her, the music drawing out her pleads of rescue. I shrugged and mouthed a mere what can you do? as she battled the extreme incoordination of her brother.
Heather and I laughed as we struggled to dance ourselves, stepping on each others shoes and having to take multiple deep breaths because of Heather's pregnancy. Jonas soon stepped in, leaving me alone in the mass of dancers.
