"Choke" I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME
Erd was true to his word, assisting us in taking our tent down. Soon enough, I was reunited with Flora and we were headed home. This journey however, was completely uneventful. The gates greeted us greatly holding the reminder that we were lucky. I'll never take it for granted.
The crowd was as welcoming as the gates, showing appreciation. After all, it has been five years since the fall of Shiganshina. People's hopes had been restored in the Survey Corp, their hope hadn't been destroyed in years. It felt nice, seeing that all of our sacrifices had been acknowledged. I dreamt of recognition like this.
"Look! It's Captain Levi. They say he's like an entire brigade unto himself!" An onlooker commented upon seeing Levi. Beside him, Hange and Erwin. Adalynn and myself followed in suit.
A certain excitable cadet, paired with two others, caught my eye. "Adalynn, look to our right."
She turned in response, noticing the kids. "Oh, great." Her fake amusement was laughable. I frowned in disapproval of her reaction, turning my head to look at them.
Armin waved in our direction, a beaming smile on his face. I returned the gesture. "You guys look so grown up! I'll come see you later, okay?" I called as we rode past. Eren shouted something in my direction but we were too far for me to hear.
Adalynn put Rayne away when we got to the stables. I, however, waited patiently for her to be done, still on Flora. My stomach was churning again, and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get down without help. I leaned forward to lay my body against Flora's, gently petting the side of her neck. She whinnied in response, hooves kicking against the dirt below.
"Lynn," I called when she began to walk over. "Help me down?" I forced myself to sit up, stretching my arms out to her.
"You're seriously the most childish person I know," Adalynn shook her head. "Hurry up," she grabbed my elbow, guiding me down slowly.
As soon as my boots hit the ground my stomach whirled. I covered my hand with my mouth, trying to hold back the urge. Adalynn lifted her hand to feel my forehead.
"Hey, you alright?" She uttered, but just as she was bringing her hand down, I removed mine from my mouth, hurling. I barely had anything to throw up, but it still forced itself out of my stomach.
By the time I had finished, Adalynn was catatonically staring at her hand. On the tip of two fingers there was puke. "Oh, shit, I'm sorry Lynn - Here," I tried to find a napkin in Flora's pack, but as I was working to, Adalynn's breathing became fast paced.
"Get it off," She gasped, waving her hand in the air. "Get it off, get it off, get it off!" Her voice became louder with each request.
I grabbed her by the wrist once I'd found a napkin, forcing her to come over. Erd approached swiftly, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder. "Hey, are you alright?"
Adalynn's eyes were still fixated on her hand. "No, I'm fucking not okay!" She tried to pull her hand away again as I wiped the puke off.
Erd's brows shifted. "Uh, I'm fine, thanks. Can you grab some water?" I requested, and he nodded, quickly going to find some. Adalynn involuntarily gagged, her clean hand cupping over her mouth.
"Lynn," I pleaded, tossing the napkin in the nearest trash can. "It's not like you're dying, it's okay. Calm down."
"You got fucking puke on me." Her glare was terrifying. Erd returned with the water hastily, handing me a paper cup.
"If you need any more, let me know. Okay?" His tone held the utmost concern.
I smiled, but shook my head. "It's for her, but thank you." I poured it onto her hand, washing away any residue. As soon as it was over, she pulled her hand back, stepping away from the throw up on the dirt.
