I saw you tomorrow

"YOU have to be strong. Hindi ka pa pwedeng bumitaw." I heard an old woman saying this to the guy na nakahiga sa hospital bed. Pumasok ako sa loob at ngumiti sakanila.

"Kumusta ka huh? May dala akong pagkain para sa'yo." I enthusiastically said.

"Sit down." He commanded.

"What do you want? Do you need anything?" I asked as I watched his family leave the room.

"I love you, you know that right?" he weakly said.

I stared at him, teary-eyed. This is the man i love for years. I can't imagine we've come this far.

"Yeah, i know." I whispered but enough for him to hear.

"Lea, I can't stay longer." umiwas ako ng tingin nang makita ko ang luha sa mga mata niya.

"Please, I-i can't. Not right now please." I begged.

"Don't beg, my baby don't beg." I cried as he muttered those words.

"I'm willing to beg and give my life just to extend yours." My voice broke as I said those words.

"You're a strong woman. Remember when you said that you don't need a man in your life? You can live without me."

"I don't need you, I want you. Living isn't living without you." but deep in me, I know I have to let him go.

He stared at me and held my hand. I watched as he intertwined our fingers. This is the man I never expected to come. This playful guy that I never knew I will need in my life.

"Sometimes not everything we want is right. Wanting you was enough but actually having you was priceless. I planned to marry you, giving you a big family, and changing your mind about growing old together, and this - all of this wasn't in my plan." he cried.

"Let's do that please, I am willing to be with you until we can't walk anymore. I'll watch every sunsets, sunrises-even eclipse with you, just please live, live with me."

"Remember when we first met?" He suddenly asked.

"What about it?" I look at our hands as I turn my gaze into his eyes.

"Miss, are you okay? You look like hell," he laughed as he hold my waist and my hand.

What was that? Tinanggal ko ang hawak niya sa kamay at bewang ko at naglakad na papalayo.

"Hey miss! The name's Quiro. I know you like me but you're not my type miss, sorry!" He shouted.

I composed myself and gracefully look back at him and raise my middle finger. That guy, I saw our tomorrow.
