"If more than half of us vote against her, she's gone. Agreed? " Irene asked. "Hey! Stop being mean to her! She's my friend, do you treat your friend like that? " Jeongin pitched in. "Well, why don't you just leave together with your friend then? " Irene pointed out. "Yeah, that'd be perfect! At least you guys won't be alone." The tall blonde said. "Are you being serious? " Jeongin said, slowly growing annoyed. "You guys, cut it out! " Felix pitched in. Awkward. Just as I was getting comfortable in here- I was too nervous to say even a word. Just then, a girl who looked as nervous as I was, walked over to me. "Uh, where have you been staying all by yourself? " she asked. "I've been just hiding in different houses. Where no one else is in." I replied. Irene glared at me again, her eyes were very intimidating. "I don't trust you. Not even a bit. Don't you get it? Nobody wants you here. I don't understand why we even have to vote." Ouch, Irene. "Oh, shut up." Han said, walking away from us. "I can't believe you guys are being so selfish." No one spoke a word after Jeongin. The atmosphere was tense. I started getting more scared. When the silence was about to get even more unbearable. BANG. A loud bang suddenly broke the silence, causing Jeongin to scream. "What was that? " Minho asked. "Oh shoot, is it more damn zombies?" The taller blonde guy said. "Wait! Can't you guys smell something burning? " The nervous pretty girl chipped in, suddenly looking more nervous. "Great! All this is happening conveniently after you came here! " Irene crossed her arms. I refused to let her get to me. At least until the situation was resolved. But really, I could smell something burning. I quickly rose from my chair as the few others rushed to the door. There was smoke in the hallway. Everyone panicked and sniffed, trying to figure out where the smell was coming from. The smoke grew thicker by the second. Through the smoke, I could barely make out the room number of the classroom in front of me. 2-A? I was afraid to open the door. What if something happened to Chan and Seungmin? The door suddenly opened, showing two silhouettes appearing in the smoke. "Dammit." Chan said while coughing? It was Chan and Seungmin. Their faces were contorted as they kept violently coughing. Thank god they were okay. "W-what happened here?! " asked the nervous girl. "I don't know. Something just exploded." Seungmin replied, his coughing slowing down. But we couldn't just watch the fire spread. If we don't do something about the flames before they grow any bigger- Fortunately, the lack of ventilation in there was slowly down the spread. Chan and Seungmin were still catching their breath. The others were either looking after the two guys or were standing still, panicking. Someone had to step up, and it had to be done right away! "Hey! What are you doing?! " Minho shouted. I could hear them screaming behind me, as I ran into the classroom. But nothing could stop me. I wanted to show them what I was capable of. The heat from the flames was intense. I hadn't just run into the classroom without a plan. I had to see a fire extinguisher in the classroom when I was with the other guys. This is a school, so there should be another one around. Yes, there it is! I picked up the fire extinguisher and pulled the safety pin. As soon as I pressed the nozzle, a cloud of whote gas was released. I couldn't see anything. Was the fire put out? The fume made me dizzy.

"Dammit! " Someone roughly grabbed my shoulder and pulled me away from the fire. That voice- that must be.. "What the heck are you doing? " It was Minho. "I was just trying to put out the-" I let out a cough. My eyes were filled with tears from the smoke. But this time, Minho wasn't yelling at me for crying. "You really scared us." To my surprise, it was Felix who scolded me this time. His face didn't have the smile he had worn earlier. "I couldn't just stand by and watch." I said. "Hey, it's all good now. See? No more fire. Why are you getting so angry, Felix? " Han asked. Like Han said, the fire seemed to have died out. All that remained of it were the dark scorch marks on the floor. I have survived everything so far. If I can survive getting attacked by zombies, it would be embarrassing to die from a small fire. Han walked over to the window in the hallway, and opened them to let some fresh air in. I had a sense of relief, and then I was stuck by a pent of exhaustion. I collapsed helplessly onto the floor. "Hey! Keep it together! " said Minho "I'm- too tired to stand." Minho walked over and crouched down in front of me. He started talking to me bluntly. "How did you manage to put out that fire, when you're this weak? " he asked. "I'm as surprised as you are.." I replied. "Still, you did it. Are you hurt? " he asked again. "No, I'm fine."I said looking down. "If you actually want to stay alive, then you should act like it and try to stay from danger. Don't make us worry like that." Did- he mean I could stay? "How the hell did the fire start anyway? " Minho asked the guys on the other side as he walked towards them. "No clue, I was just trying to look for some cookies-" Chan said as Seungmin nodded. "I found a lighter in there." Han joined the conversation holding a piece of a broken lighter in his hand. "What's that doing here? Was that in the classroom? " Chan asked. "I went in there to open the windows, it still stinks in there." Han said, making a disgusted face. "It must have exploded by itself." Minho suggested. But it's not even hot enough here to trigger such an explosion. As long as we know where it started, I guess there isn't much to be worried about. "I'm glad you guys are alright." The shorter guy said. "Oh, and by the way-" Minho hesitated. But he finished his sentence as he turned back and looked at me. "Screw the whole voting thing, let her stay." he said. "I was about to say the same thing." The pretty nervous girl said. Irene stared at everyone shocked. Minho scratched his head and held his hand out toward me. "Huh?" I reached and grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. Everyone was looking at me. The tension in the room didn't seem as serious as earlier. "I agree with Minho. She risked her own life to put out that fire. I mean, none of us was even attempting to do it." Chan said. "We can't just force her to leave." Seungmin also replying. I felt my heart rush hearing them arguing for me to stay. "This is so annoying." Irene said. "Irene, come on. You're being selfish." The short guy said. "Please don't make her leave." Jeongin sniffled as he held my hand. He was such a good friend and his good heart was so touching. I was about to burst into tears. "We could use an extra hand when we go on patrols, don't you think?" Han pointed out. "Patrols?" I asked. "You never know what's out there. I mean, this place might look okay but it's basically falling apart. We have had to go around and fix it up and maintain ourselves. There are still some places we haven't managed to check out yet though." Han bluntly said. It was no wonder they were so hostile at first. This place was not as safe as it seemed. "I can totally do my part on the patrols! " I said. "I am for it too. You know, her staying here." Felix finally broke his silence. I thought he was still upset with me, but I guess he's okay now. "As long as she won't get herself in any more danger." He said. "Okay. I won't, I promise." I replied, leaving Felix silent. He must have been so worried. I felt bad for causing all that trouble. "So, we are all on the same page? " Jeongin asked, smiling. "Irene, what do you say? " Chan asked, looking at her. This time, everyone's eyes were on her. She bit her lip in frustration. "Well, what's the point. I'm keeping my eyes on you. So annoying." Geez. I wasn't sure how long I could let her treat me like that. I figured it would take some time until; we could get along. Still, I have to thank the others though. "Thank you for letting me stay." I said with a smile. "Don't mention it." Chan replied. "Let me know if there's anything I can do-" I was interrupted by Chan. "Actually, there is one thing you can do." he said. "What is it? " I asked him. "It's very simple, get some rest. We all have our own room here. You can pick any empty classroom for yourself." Chan smiled softly. "We can share a room! " Jeongin grabbed my hands and swung them in excitement. Finally! I'm not alone anymore!
