when chandler woke up, it was almost 11 am. she walked into the kitchen and saw her dad leaning agains the counter with a cup of coffee.
"good morning, dad."
"morning sweetie."
"how long were you at work last night?"
"i got home at like 2:00."
"oh, thats not too bad. anyway, i'm hungry."
"you can drive up to the cafe down the road. its pretty small. just look up 'cafe near me' and pick one and drive up there."
"okay. i'm gonna walk. i don't know if you need to go anywhere."
"okay, honey."
chandler walks to her room to get out of her pajamas. she puts in a pair of jean shorts, a cream colored crewneck, and the skull necklace that layla got her as it matches her own. she grabs her wallet and her airpods and starts walking. her gps is rarely interrupting her music. chandler is halfway there when her phone goes off. its a text from nick.

hes taking care of her.

as chandler walks into the cafe, the triplets pull up. she waits for them to catch up to her before walking in. they all walk in and sit at a booth. chandler goes in first and matt follows her. nick is across from chandler and chris is next to nick.
"what do yall want?" chris asks. "i will go up and order. just type it out here."
he passes his phone around the table. when everyone types out what they wanted, chris went up there and ordered for all of them.
"so, why did you move here?" matt asks, trying to make small talk.
"um, my dad got a new job as a doctor at the hospital here," chandler responds.
"thats cool."
"are you in school here?" nick asks.
"no, i graduated early."
"oh, how old are you?"
"17, but i will be 18 in october."
"oh, thats cool," nick replies.
"we will be 19 in august," matt says.
"thats not too far away. like what- 3 months?" she says.
"yeah and we just graduated last week," matt informs her.
"oh really? i did too."
a few seconds pass and chris walks back. "they will say my name when put food is ready so if im not paying attention, raise your guys' hands."
